I was introduced to Jimmy Buffett in 1978, by a woman who had lived in Ft. Lauderdale. Thanks Judy! Saw my first concert in 1980 at SIU Carbondale. One of my best days ever, was April 1983. Opening day at Busch Stadium after Cards World Championship in '82. After the game, changed out of Cards shirt into flowered shirt and saw Jimmy at the Fox Theater. Later, concerts at The Muni and Riverport.
I taught my daughter the words to the chorus of "Cheeseburger in Paradise". At about four, she sang it for her grandmother. She commented that a four year old shouldn't sing about a "cold draft beer". Hey, it could have been "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Sc***" or "My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink, and I Don't Love Jesus"!
First Buffett album (album=black, vinyl, round, played on turntable); A-1-A.

- Singer/songwriter veteran, Mac McAnally, is also a producer, session player, publisher, band member, studio owner, comic, story teller, and so on, a basic modern day William Faulkner living in the music industry.
As a member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band, Mac has written a number of songs with Buffett, including two songs from Jimmy's upcoming record: "Coast of Carolina" and the title track, "License to Chill." Jimmy also recorded Mac's song, "It's My Job" which appears on Buffett's '81 release, "Coconut Telegraph." - Peter Mayer; Lead Guitar; Coral Reefer Band
- Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Peter Mayer has been quietly and steadily building a fervent following across the country, stepping outside his role as one of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefers to front his own band, The Peter Mayer Group. Melding a unique and eclectic writing style, a distinctive voice, and virtuoso musicianship, Peter and his band create compelling and accessible music that is electrifying in live performance.
Joining Peter on stage are:
Jim Mayer, his brother, who shines on both electric and upright acoustic bass, and has played with a diversity of performers. He has co-written songs on Romeo's Garage and other collaborations with Peter, as well as with Jimmy Buffett.
Roger Guth, drummer for the likes of Jimmy Buffett, Mose Allison and James Moody, and songwriter whose songs have been performed by Vanessa Williams, Jimmy Buffett and others.
Vince Varvel, one of St. Louis' top guitar players, has been a mainstay of the band for four years and brings his brilliant sense of harmony and texture to the group.
Scott Bryan, a talented vocalist, percussionist and multi instrumentalist who comes to the band after touring, recording and songwriting with Sheryl Crow for the last five years. Scott has shared the stage with an impressive array of performers from Sting to the Rolling Stones. - Margaritaville.com
