I always put on gardening clothes when I work in the yard and flower beds. Then it takes me a few minutes to get all the special gardening accessories I need when I do garden work. There are the gardening gloves, garden shoes, a hat, sun screen, and gardening tools.
Thinking about it, gardening has all the trappings of a full fledged hobby. How many times have you gone to the garden store and spent more money than you needed to. There is always the extra plant I gotta have and garden decor to resist buying.
Now that I am of retirement age, besides the comfortable garden clothing, I want some other gardening accessories to help make the activity a little easier to do. I did receive this garden tool for Christmas. I took it out of the sheath once and I am afraid to get near it now. It is sharp as a butcher's knife. You will have to be practiced with the machete to be comfortable with tripping around the garden with this knife. I will let you know when I finally use it.
7//8/11 I have used this for weeding. I decided on using this for all my weeding jobs. Loosens the dirt fast and weeds slip out. Do not work with it in tight areas like a pot. I suffered a slice on a finger that way. Not a major cut.

- Gardening gloves are a must. I also go to a local carpet store that sells old carpet squares for $1.00. I use those for kneeling on.
