Community on NBC

Community is one of my favorite shows on television right now. It has smart dialog and eccentric characters that make for a very entertaining half hour every Thursday night on NBC. If you like shows like 30 Rock, The Office, and Parks and Recreation, then you will love Community!

Community takes place at Greendale Community College in Denver, a place where the only thing lower than the standards is the reputation. The main character is Jeff Winger, (played by Joel McHale) a former lawyer who gets caught practicing law without a law degree and comes to Greendale to start his formal training. He joins a Spanish class study group as an attempt to hook up with Britta Perry (Gillian Jacobs), an attractive blond student trying to get her life back on track. The show centers around the study group and the characters in it, which include Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase), an aged moist-towelette tycoon who has been married seven times, Troy Barnes (Donald Glover), a former high school quarterback, straight-laced nerd Annie Edison (Alison Brie), and several others.
