A Peek At My Research
Compare K-9 Advantix vs Advantage vs Frontline Plus
So, I took the time to compare K-9 Advantix to Frontline Plus For Dogs and Advantage flea killer for dogs, on price and active ingredients and here's what I found:K-9 Advantix:
If you buy a 12-months' supply, your costs will range from $12.75/month to $14.42/month depending on the size of your dog.
Advantage Flea Products
K-9 Advantix for dogs and Advantage flea products come in 4 sizes - Green, Teal, Red, and Blue - so you can select the right one for your dog's size.
So, if you're comparing K-9 Advantix to Advantage for dogs, you can see that they are made by the same manufacturer and Advantage is cheaper because it only has one active ingredient instead of two. Depending on your dog's sensitivity and the severity of the fleas in your area, it might make sense to start with Advantage to see if it meets your needs, and then "escalate" to Advantix if you need something stronger. Likewise, if your dog has had an adverse reaction to canine Advantix, you could ratchet down to Advantage and see if he's doing better without exposure to the ingredient Permethrin.
Frontline Flea Medicine
If your dog has had adverse reactions to either Advantix or Advantage, switching to Frontline will get him away from BOTH active ingredients in those products, and hopefully get him on something he is less sensitive to.
I will say I have had personal experience with Frontline and it was great - no problems whatsoever. You can read more Frontline Product Reviews
Frontline Plus has a different "price chart" system than canine Advantix or Advantage flea drops, so how the price compares for your dog's size might be a little different. The prices range from $13.42/month to $15.08/month so it's not quite as cheap as the other two medications.
However, you can get any of these medications at a great discount from what your vet charges if you go here
