Digital cameras were a rarity and a luxury item until just a few short years ago. Now, with advancing technology and manufacturing practice, they're a mainstream toy and a necessity for everyone who loves to take pictures and capture memories.
There's a long list of advantages to digital camera ownership, such as:
You can see what you're taking a photo of. Yes, you could see it before when you had to look through the view finder of your film camera, but with a digital, you can line the photo up perfectly with the LCD and really see what you're shooting.
You can do photo re-dos easily. Because you can look at the photo you just took, you can easily see if someone's eyes are closed or if the baby just looked away from the camera. You can erase the photo and start over, and this only takes a matter of seconds!
No more taking film to the store to develop. No more having to buy film. No more running out of film. 'Nuff said.
You can store you photos right on your computer. It's easy to upload the photos you've taken and save them on your computer.
Then the photos can be printed, emailed, saved on a disc, or just looked at whenever you feel nostalgic.
The rising popularity of digital cameras is for a reason. They're easy to use, take great photos, and are very convenient. What could be better, especially for people who want to preserve every memory and moment?

You're ready to buy a digital camera - great! Here are the things you need to consider in order to find a good deal on the right digital camera for you:
LCD - Most digital cameras come with an LCD (liquid crystal display) that allows you to see your photos as you take them and then review them as needed. This is a wonderful feature. The bigger the LCD on your camera, the easier it is to see your photos.

A digital camera is a camera that takes video or still photographs, or both, digitally by recording images on a light-sensitive sensor.
Many compact digital still cameras can record sound and moving video as well as still photographs. In the Western market, digital cameras outsell their 35 mm film counterparts.
Digital cameras can include features that are not found in film cameras, such as displaying an image on the camera's screen immediately after it is recorded, the capacity to take thousands of images on a single small memory device, the ability to record video with sound, the ability to edit images, and deletion of images allowing re-use of the storage they occupied.
Digital cameras are incorporated into many devices ranging from PDAs and mobile phones (called camera phones) to vehicles. The Hubble Space Telescope and other astronomical devices are essentially specialised digital cameras.
