Composting: Resources for Gardeners
Ranked #10,194 in Home & Garden, #161,860 overall
Composting is for Everyone
Yes, really, everyone. From a tiny studio apartment to the largest McMansion, you can compost. Even if you have to take your stuff to a local community garden's compost bin! Here's a one-stop guide to all the resources you need to start home and garden composting, from a worm bin under the kitchen sink, through the black plastic composters which are great for small yards, to the multi-bin homemade systems for large working gardens.
Picture: my previous garden composting setup under an old pear tree: two large open bins built from free pallets, a black plastic bin that came from the older setup when I lived in the city, a sifter hanging from the tree, and an old bathtub underneath the sifter to catch the beautiful stuff. Rubbermaid bins hold stuff that won't compost and is headed for the dump, and stuff to go from the sifter back into the main bins to rot some more. Not pretty, but it didn't need to be, and boy did it produce plenty of compost!

- Well we got one of these indoor compost box with special worms in our apartment. At first it did not work too well, our worms died, all of them. We found out that this type of indoor composting with worms does not take in everything, they apparently died because of the onions. So we have to buy more worms and try again
