Computer Hardwares

Ranked #36,701 in Computers & Electronics, #662,313 overall

Welcome to Computer Hardwares page.

Computer hardwares? cpu, motherboard, gpu, memory, hard drive, dvd rom, monitor, mouse, keyboard and power supply all these are computer hardwares, your PC consist of these parts, though only few of these parts are visible to you, visible ones are monitor, mouse, keyboard, spreakers and casing. All the other parts are hidden inside your pc casing, unless you open your PC chassis you can't see the rest of the parts I mentioned above. To run the machine in the right manner we need a system software, something like Microsoft Windows, Windows is a software created by Microsoft, software is a program that tells computer hardware what to do, this is what sofwares does, they make use of hardware. This webpage of mine will be related to this stuff, I mean computer hardwares, I will focus on them, you can even call them computer parts or computer components.

Even More About Computer Hardwares.

Computer hardwares as I mentioned earlier are electronic items that are put together to run a computer, one part is missing and your computer will not function properly or won't run at all. These parts gets better and even better from time to time, companies like Intel, AMD and Nvidia launch new and improved products every year or sometimes within six months becuase of competition between them.

Competition is always good between these companies because competition brings end-user, us, better products at lower prices. PC enthusaists who have money at their disposal gets excited when top-of-the-line hardware comes to market, latest hardware is what makes them happy because this is a nice way for them to show off and feel good about having the fastest machine then others.

To function the machine we need a program something like Microsoft Windows, lastest version of Windows that is available is 7, Windows 7 that is, before this there was Vista but now Windows 7 has released, Windows 7 was a success even in Beta state and so far it's seems to work better than Windows XP Pro and Window Vista.

List of computer components!

Here is the list of desktop computer parts!

Here is the list of computer parts that you can find in a desktop pc with short descriptions of each item, I hope you find it useful.
  • Motherboard
It's a printed circuit board (PCB) that holds computer parts together and makes it possible to communicate between each other.
  • Processor
A tiny chip that also called central processing unit (CPU) it executes instructions to function the whole system.
  • Memory
Computer memory also known as random access memory (RAM) is available to the progams for use in your system.
  • Video Card
A device that process and outputs graphical information, it's also called graphics processing unit (GPU).
  • Sound Card
A sound card is an expansion board which you install in PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) slot of your motherboard, it's main function is to operate and output audio signals.
  • DVD Rom
A device that reads or even writes (incase of a writer) discs whether DVD (Digital Versatile Disk) or CD discs.
  • Floppy Drive
Floppy disk drive (FDD) reads and writes data from small sized, round piece of metal-coated plastic, it is an older way of storing your data.
  • USB Drive
An advanced way of storing data, it's a plug-and-play portable storage device. USB holds far more data than an older Floppy Drive.
  • Ethernet Card
Ethernet cards helps connect two or more computers over Lan (local area network) to transfer all types of data.
  • Power Supply
A computer hardware component that feed your computer parts with current inorder for them to function. The power supply converts the alternating current (AC) line from your home to the direct current (DC) required by your computer. PSU is short for power supply.
  • Monitor
A box with a display screen that display images through pixels.
  • Spreakers
A component to listen to sounds and music from your computer system. Basically speakers takes the electronic signal from your sound card then turns it into actual sound that we can hear.
  • Mouse
A small device that you move on hard surface to control the movement of your pointer or cursor or to take action on your display screen.
  • Keyboard
This is also your input device beside Mouse. It's a board with keys on them through which you input textual data into your pc.
  • Computer Case
Computer case or computer chassis is a box of different sizes, micro, mid and full tower that contains your motherboard, processor, ram, gpu, power supply, ethernet card, sound card, dvd rom etc.

Lets Have A Debate: Intel Or AMD?

Show your love to your favorite company!

At the moment Intel is the one who is holding the crown of the best cpu manufacturer company, though AMD is trying to compete they aren't as good as Intel. The need of the end-user for fastest running cpu can only be fullfiill with both companies competing each other and releasing advance and improved cpus every year.

Which cpu manufacturer you like the most, Intel or AMD?.

Intel is better as they are bringing real fast and cheap cpus in the computer market.

AMD isn't behind from Intel they are also producing cpus that can compete with Intel parts.

Important!

Carefully Pick Your Pc Parts!

How to pick your computer hardwares for best performance?.
Don't pair a weaker pc hardware with a faster one, that would bottleneck your systems performance, lets say, you bought a video card that can't perform on par with your processor, your video card will bottleneck which will result in reduced performance.
