Computer Running Slow

This is my computer running slow story ... So we bought this shiny new computer a couple of years ago. My wife and kids thought it was great. My wife uses it buy stuff online and pay household bills. She's also using it to send emails to her friends and to get recipes for new meals. She loves it. My children are happy too. They do their homework on it and use it to play games at the weekends. I use it in the venings to catch up on emails. All pretty normal family stuff really.

A few months ago it started to run slower and slower. It would take ages to reboot. I'm talking 5 minutes or more sometimes. We ended up leaving it on most of the time just to avoid having to turn it off and on! Sometimes the mouse would stop responding for a few seconds and then be ok again. It was getting really frustrating.

Anyway, to cut a long story short I discovered the best way to fix it was to type in why is my computer running slow in google and found a website that showed me how to fix it. It's here http://whyismycomputerrunningslow.org. Might be worth a look if you have similar problems.

My wife's happy now as she is able to buy more stuff online. Er ... maybe I've done the wrong thing speeding it up!
