Computers for Graphic Design
Ranked #664 in Computers & Electronics, #9,671 overall
Graphic Design Computers
This is because most design applications have a lot of system requirements to run properly. There are a lot of calculations to be done, so the computer needs to be able to handle such tasks.
You won't find a top graphics designer working on an old outdated computer model.
Best PC for Graphic Design
Customer Review:
Formidable PC for the price!
I recently purchased this HPE h8-1220 desktop PC and I am generally impressed by its speed and storage capacity.
This PC is also very quiet, and for its price, is an amazing bargain. I play a lot of games, and even with the settings maxed, I am not experiencing any drop in frame rates. It's quiet, this PC is almost silent most of the time.
Fast - the first generation bulldozer 8 core chip is very fast
Tons of RAM (10 gigs)
Good 2 gig Nvidia GPU Two terabyte hard drive
WiFi card - I am able to read several neighborhood wireless signals, so the internal card is at least as strong as a laptops' would be.Card readers, etc...
Best Computers for Graphic Design?
Some say Macs are the top computers to be used in graphics design since they are built with ease of use in mind.
Others prefer the PC over anything, so it doesn't really matter which side you choose as long as you're aware of the system requirements for such a processing machine.
Your computer needs to be able to handle such demanding applications, so you should focus a bit on the internals before making a decision.
It needs to have a powerful processor, a large amount of system memory, a dedicated graphics card and also a big monitor to go with the whole package.
RAM is like the information pipeline your computer has, so the greater the pipeline the more information can be processed at one time. A good starting amount is 4GB of installed RAM, but don't stop there. You should always seek to upgrade this spec since it determines how fast you can run programs. A good target would be somewhere in the range of 6-12GB of installed memory.Well, since you'll be wanting to use as much RAM as possible, it wouldn't be wise that an on board GPU should get a large amount of RAM just to run things. Integrated graphics do this, they take away a part of the available RAM and use it to run themselves.
Keep an eye out for systems configured with a separate graphics card.
The monitor needs to represent colors accurately so you don't run into big design mistakes into the future.

I bought this for my husband and all he could say was , WOW:). Easy access for drive upgrades, RAM. Very fast.
Photoshop changes are rapid. He is a photographer and restores old photographs. This machine is perfect for this application.

- Those are definitely all good computers to get if you're a graphic designer. The PC you featured is very similar to mine, it's just one model newer, and I can say first-hand it's very good.
