Turn your PC into a TV
Wow that's great I thought when I read the headline. I'd just moved to a muddy field in France and, even when you speak OK french, TV in France is dire for the average Englishman of taste and refinement!
Then the bad news hit. I needed a high speed internet connection. Getting the PC to TV tuner software is a waste of time with a slow dial-up connection.
Time passed and two things came to pass. One I got broadband and secondly I discovered how to get Sky (British Sky) via satellite in France.
But I downloaded the television tuner to my computer anyway and was amazed. Sure hundreds of the channels were of no interest to me That was because now I was spoiled for choice. But would I be interested in using this software if the British Sky stuff was not available to me. Damn right I would!
If I was a non-english speaker living in an english speaking country who missed my Alabanian soap operas I would too!
