Concrete Rust Removal Dilemma
I tried bleach and all it did was burn my grass that was wedged up against the wall, funny thing was that the weeds didn't die only the grass, go figure. My neighbor said he has the same problem and just paint the wall it was a lot easier. I am not a painter nor do I even like to paint, plus it gets expensive and takes up at least one of my weekends that I like to use to relax from a long week at work. I knew at the time there had to be a better form of concrete rust removal but I just had to research for a little while and it will come to me.
My research paid of for me. I found out that the reason why my walls were turning this bright orange was because it was the well water from the sprinklers that I was using to water my grass. The well water was actually rust and was getting sprayed on the walls of my home which was causing the roundish orange stains to appear. Now that I knew what I was dealing with I needed to find some type of concrete rust remover that I can count on.
I pulled up some different information about rust removal products that had phosphoric acid in them which really worried me. After all, I just wanted to remove the rust stains and not the paint of my walls either. Plus my wife and I have decided to jump on the "Going Green" bandwagon and do something good for our environment.
I searched all different types of rust removal products and finally found a concrete rust remover that I felt would be perfect for the situation I was having. This concrete rust remover was totally natural and 100% organic. It didn't have any phosphoric acid in it and was real cheap too.
One of the things that attracted me the most to this concrete rust remover was it said you don't need to scrub the rust stain, it will do the work for you. I loved the sound of that and had to try it out. The next morning I went out to the side of the house and sprayed just a small corner of the rust stain with the concrete rust remover. I was amazed at how the concrete rust remover literally ate up the rust stains as I watched.
I couldn't believe that the concrete rust removal product was working so quickly and it wasn't taking off the paint from my house as well. Since I knew the concrete rust remover was safe to use I just sprayed it over the rest of the rust stains and before I was done spraying the rust stains I looked behind me and the stains were just disappearing. I was shocked.
Now that I solved my concrete rust removal dilemma, I don't feel so embarrassed when people drive past my home because of those nasty rust stains. Now that I am more experienced in concrete rust removal I am wondering if I should tell my neighbor that he should stop painting over his rust stains and use the concrete rust remover that I used? I know I would want someone to tell me before I went out to paint over the rust stains.
