Connie's Got Class...Virtual Class!

I've taught crafting for many years; but since I discovered the world of social networking, I have been working on making the transition to a virtual classroom.

I love to teach as much as I love to craft, and the internet provides me the opportunity to do both...right from the comfort of my own studio!

(For now, that means the crafting space I've designed in my home; but I'm dreaming up an actual studio!)

I've been busy designing patterns that will teach you about the various modes of crafting that I love so much. I hope to help fan the flames of YOUR desire to create your own home decor...and more!

CONNIE'S CRAFTING CLASS: Dolls For the Season

Dolls are made with a variety of materials including styrofoam, fabric, raffia, polyester fiberfill, burlap, felt, dowel rods, silk flowers, and more.

Techniques include designing, basic sewing, cutting, gluing and assembling.

The end result is some crafting fun and an extremely well made decorative doll!
The completed doll is 24" tall, and you can say...
"I made it myself!"

Take a look at some of the dolls from my personal collection...

It's Time to Decorate!

This little scarecrow is ready to decorate for fall...come learn how to create your own little designer!

Simply Sunflowers

This little gal is so cute! She'll steal the heart of anyone who loves sunflowers...

Farm Fresh Eggs

This little fellow will be right at home in your country kitchen!

Miss Liberty

Little Miss Liberty is the perfect patriotic touch for the autumn season! She's dressed in Americana fabrics, and has a braided pony tail.

Free Shipping Adds Even Greater Value to Shopping Online!

I LOVE to shop for craft supplies!
Nothing compares to the feel of fabrics in my hand; the bright splash of colors that welcome you to the silk floral department...

Or the wide array of scrapbooking supplies that can keep me mesmerized for hours on end!

But, there are times that it's more helpful for me to just "Order Up" online...like when it's 114 degrees in Phoenix, and all I need are a few staple items...

That's when I enjoy sitting down to the computer and perusing online.

Jo-Ann's shipping club makes that an even greater value for me... especially since gas is running about $3.00 a gallon!

It's really easy to qualify for membership:
Basically, you make three (3) purchases of $25.00 or more (excluding coupons) and they will sign you up.

For a crafty girl like me, that's really good news!

Tracy Porter: "Foulard"

Connie Recommends Tracy Porter Designs: "Floral With Branches"

Scarecrow dolls are fun and easy to make...

Choose two to three coordinating fabrics for your dolls wardrobe. You will create a bodice, skirt, pants, vest or a jacket for each of your scarecrows.

1 yard each of 3 coordinating fabrics will create at least 6 dolls...it depends on how you choose to design the clothing.

Don't worry! I'll provide you with plenty of options and instructions!

Here Are Some of the Tools and Supplies We Will Use: Styrofoam and Cutting Tools

I haven't purchased the cutting tool yet... a serrated knife is sufficient for small projects...like scarecrow dolls!

Glue Gun

I have used many different glue guns, and have been happy with most of them...but the "Thermogrip" by Arrow is my all-time favorite.

It's sturdy, comfortable in my hand, heats quickly...and stays hot!
It's one of my favorite crafting tools!

Glue Sticks

Glue sticks come in 4", 8" and 10"...
My personal preference is the 10"...I use my glue gun for many of my projects, and with the longer glue stick, I'm not always re-loading!

Scissors

I use the Fiskars (r) Softouch...daily! They're strong, comfortable, and maintain a sharp cutting edge for long periods of time...

The Cutter Bee Scissors are my favorite for delicate paper cutting.

Winter Preview

I love the fall, and the way it's rich colors signal the approaching winter season...

Football has been a part of the fall at our house for many years...

I live in Phoenix now, but I'm still a Buckeye fan at heart!
I created this little snow-girl to celebrate my love for winter; AND the Ohio State Buckeyes!

I'll soon have the class ready to show you how to create a snowman dressed in the colors of YOUR your favorite team!
