Connie Talbot's Latest Adventures!

Connie may not have won the popular British talent show, but she has most certainly won the hearts of people all over the world! Connie Talbot is a beautiful singer and a true breath of fresh air. I promise you, this young vocalist will touch your heart and the hearts of people around the world.
Show judge Piers Morgan called her: "pound for pound, inch for inch, the best 6-year-old singer in the world."
In a very recent turn of events, Simon Cowell and Sony BMG have decided not to sign Connie to their label.
Only a few weeks earlier Connie had recorded Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Smile at a studio in London. According to Connie's father the session went very well and the family was told that the label wanted to work with them.
To the Talbot family's surprise, Simon and his team then told them that Connie was too young to be their kind of artist. They were told to look for a company that looks after children. Apparently stating to them that they need to find a label that records kids music.
On August 11th Simon Cowell made this statement to the British website, The People.co.uk, "My views on Connie have NOT changed. I think she's a wonderful talent. But I was persuaded by everyone at Sony BMG that she is just much too young to be embarking on a recording career.
"When the time is right I will be delighted to see if we can make it work.
"My views on Connie are still exactly the same. She's an amazing little girl with a beautiful voice."
Mark Marot, Connie's manager contacted us recently to let us know that Connie was in Olympic Studios, a London - UK based legendary studio, recording her first album "Over The Rainbow" in October, and the debut release is due out on November 27th.
Music experts and critics alike are predicting a possible #1 Christmas hit for Connie on her debut release. It looks like they may be right as we draw closer to the release date, YouTube and other sites are just buzzing with Connie clips.

Connie's Interview on ITV
Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Everyone's getting a little tear in their eye...
It's been said that little Connie never had a formal singing lesson. Instead, She developed her angelic vocal skills by singing along to a karaoke machine.
Connie Talbot, the six-year-old star of the British talent show "Britains Got Talent". Who could quite possibly be the next Charlotte Church ". mesmerized both the audience and the judges - in particular Simon Cowell - In light of recent acts that Simon Cowell has given his blessing to, she could be on her way to earning more than 1 million dollars over the coming year. Indeed, so impressed was the 47-year-old pop mogul by Connie's performance, that he had preliminarily agreed to sign her to a seven-figure deal with his own record label.
Much of the earlier reporting stated that Connie chose "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as her song for the TV show because they used to watch the film together before her grandmother died two years ago.
But in a recent interview, Connie's father Gavin said that she was supposed to sing "Imagine" by John Lennon, and at the last minute BGT's production team changed their minds and told her to sing Somewhere Over The Rainbow. A song that Connie never sang to music. Needless to say she sang the song like it has never been sung by anyone before.
Seven Year old Connie in BGT finals
The Seven-year-old "Sutton starlet" says she has never had professional singing lessons, but that didn't stop her from going through to the finals of TV variety show Britain's Got Talent.
The young singer continued to impress the judges, including Simon Cowell, as she performed Michael Jackson's hit Ben.
She joins five other acts, including opera singer
Paul Potts and street dancers The Kombat Breakers, hoping to win a spot at the Royal Variety Show.
The winner of the ITV1 program, presented by Ant and Dec, will also receive a check for $100,000.
Connie, from Sutton Coldfield, first wowed the judges with her performance in the heats singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
Saturday's semi-final also saw bottle-juggling pair the Bar Wizards win through to the next round, which takes place on Sunday.
The other finalists are Damon Scott, who performs with a monkey puppet, and 11-year-old singer Bessie Cursons.
On Friday, impressionist Richard Bates was removed from the contest after police contacted producers to tell them he was on the sex offenders' register.
ITV said Bates, who is due to be removed from the register next month, had agreed to step down from the show.

Connie with grandma
There have been many child stars in the music industry. Some have done very well financially, but many have had to pay the price for childhood stardom. I can think of quite a few examples of kid celebrities who have become troubled as adults. Maybe Mr. Cowell is doing the right thing for Connie. What do you think...

- I think that this little girl should get a private invitation to sing for the queen! She has a God given angelic voice that just speaks to your soul! God gave her this voice at 6 years old! Let it be heard!!
I think she's far too young to get thrown into the entertainment business. That would be tragic...but I have been blessed by hearing her. Let others, have the privilege of hearing her!

- Connie's voice is a gift to be shared! Even my pre-school grands will sit perfectly still - mesmerized - when she sings Somewhere Over the Rainbow". I have played that video for them dozens of times - at their request! I also featured Connie on Amazing and Talented Children. I am a huge Connie Talbot fan! Simon should have signed her as fast as he could! She will be entertaining for many many years to come!

nlwest21 says:
I agree that she has a great voice - but no one at that age should have a singing career. She needs to wait till she is older and ready to make decisions on her own and decide if she really wants to do it.

I think, while Connie has a great voice and is amazing to watch her sing her Rainbow song, she's not rounded enough for a full blow recording deal or to win BGT. That's to do with her age, of course, not talent. She'll be wonderful when she grows up.
