Too many Americans do not know what the Democratic and Republican party platforms are; if they did, many Democrats would actually vote Republican!

If you are finding out that you are actually conservative, take a breath and continue reading. Political parties stand on party platforms, which is the basis of what the candidates believe and what laws they will pass and fight for. So, if you don't believe in abortion and gay marriage, it might interest you that both of those initiatives are part of the Democratic platform - Read the official Democratic platform here, and pay close attention to page 42.
If you answered the questions according to the results key above, you actually agree with the Republican platform! Check it the Republican Party plaftorm here. You'll probably learn a lot that you didn't know, including the fact that the Republican party was the party that opposed slavery and fought for it's abolishment.
So, What Do I Do Now?
Pay closer attention to campaign promises and speeches. Read between the lines and read up on your local, state, and federal candidates. Understand that the party plaform is what the candidates are standing upon as the basis of their actions in office, so if you don't agree with the platform, you really don't agree with the candidate.Think about the long term effects of what candidates say they're going to do in office. It may sound good for the short term, but what are the long term effects?
Politics affects all areas of your life - it's time to start actively participating.

- Hey this is a great lens! I really enjoyed spending some time here even though I already knew what position I hold. It was still fun. I hope you will keep this lens going, this is just the kind of thing I had in mind for a while now. As for Dennis, well he's still likely still in shock and denial about finding out he's more conservative than he could have ever believed. If you're really a democrat, that's great. But the questions are absolutely fair. They're slanted, of course, but they are fair.
Just because YOU don't demand that your beliefs be made law, that doesn't mean that your party does not, because they absolutely do. I, too, believe that government involvement should NOT be an ultimatum, but that's what the Democratic party fights for! They try to force sex education, alternative lifestyles, even preferred methods of environmental protection BY LAW without you getting to vote for it!
I have no idea what you're talking about concerning it being that way with Republicans - feel free to elaborate if you wish. But the truth is that ethics, laws, and yes, political parties are all based on what people believe is best for themselves and society. Some people just don't agree on what's best.

- This is a unfair test. What I believe I'm not forcing on other people by LAW.
I would rather reach an individual by speaking to their hearts. Conservatives believe that their outlook on life is the one that America should live by! I'm ok as long as I AM ALLOWED to live my beliefs. I don't necessarily need the Nation to make it LAW.
These questions ask about WHAT I BELIEVE. But if you don't feel the same way, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GO TO JAIL FOR IT. I am a Democrat.
Things like "Society should educate my children. AND I WILL TAKE WHAT EVER THEY WILL GIVE..."
C'mon! We vote on things like this, Jeeze. Government involvement is not an ultimatum, even though it always seems that way when it comes to Republicans.
I AM A DEMOCRAT. FIX UR QUESTIONS TO BE FAIR.
