How to find true consumer debt relief

The average American is at least $30,000 in debt because of credit card debt, mortgage payments and or car loans making them feel the need for consumer debt relief.  However, in the last few years, this amount has risen drastically as people continue to accumulate debt instead of paying it off, and now find themselves in a massive hold to which there seems to be no escape.  Additionally, if you have compiled student loans or owe taxes to the federal government, it may seem as if there is no foreseeable way to ever live a life free of debt.

However, there are ways to find IRS debt relief and consumer debt relief in general, if you confront your problems and seek the aid of debt reduction counseling instead of burying your head in the sand.  In fact, the longer you continue to neglect your debt, the larger it will grow as you accumulate late fees and interest over time.  While it may be tempting to allow the phone to ring or to hang up on bill collectors, you will not be solving or finding ture consumer debt relief unless you take positive action.

One of the first steps to finding consumer debt relief, is to enter debt reduction counseling or to seek the aid of a debt settlement attorney.  This is because both of these agents can explain your options and help you find a solution to your problems and thus consumer debt relief.  You cannot find the solution to a problem if you do not first make a solid attempt, which is why talking to a debt settlement agent is so important.

Most of the time, there are two immediate options that you can explore before you are forced to declare bankruptcy.  Both are better options than ruining your credit history for a substantial amount of time.  The first option you have for consumer debt relief usually works best if you hire a debt settlement attorney to aid you in the process.  This option is seeking a debt relief loan

Usually, an attorney will help you consolidate and lower your final total of debt by negotiating with debtors to take away some of the interest and late fees you may have compiled.  Once they are able to settle your debts at a lower cost than you previously are being billed for, the debt settlement attorney will help you find a debt relief loan so you can pay off your creditors.  The advantage of a debt relief loan is that it will place all your debt into one location with low interest and allow you to make one payment toward your loan each month that is affordable.

A debt settlement attorney may also help you apply for a debt relief grant which is given by the federal government as a onetime amount that will allow you to make a fresh start.  Many people are not aware that the government offers debt relief grants, but if you meet the standards this is the best way to find consumer debt relief that will have lasting effects.
