    Very useful reminders. I like the pyramid concept - it's very much like public speaking - tell them what you are going to say, then say it, then summarize what you have said.

    I loved the 'Inverted Pyramed' tip, amazing and when I was reading it I was nodding my head in total agreement and a sort of light bulb moment. Like oh yes, of course or like I should have known that. Again, you have made another fantastic lens. Thank you for your hints and tips, there gold :)

    I totally agree with you, Angelgirl1976.. I've always thought of writing towards the climax, so to speak.. The inverted pyramid method is something I should try sometime.. Thanks, LindaJM for sharing.. Really helpful lens.. :)

    Thanks! I'm new to Squidoo but I have my own blog sites. I have always planned my articles ahead, but I picked up some great questions to really write some more engaging content.

    I think if you write for readers rather than search engines, you'll be way a head of most content out there. Thanks for this very useful post!

    You're right - good writing isn't long-winded. People don't have time to wade through long, drawn-out blocks of text. Great lens, and a super reference tool, too.

    As somebody who works for an Internet marketing services company, I understand how important content is. As they say, content is king, and if you don't have it then you will struggle to build links and thus ranking in Google.

    I understand wanting to sell something off your lenses. I love making a sale as much as the next, but what frustrates me is lenses that have products and no content. If they give me something to read, I'm more likely to look at what they're selling.

    A friend once said to me: "I read a lot of Stephen King, so I read capital letters as screaming." I was glad to see 'don't use all caps' as one of your tips. I don't see a lot of text with caps on Squidoo, but I do see a lot of module titles that are screaming at me. Even if a lens is superb otherwise, all caps titles and headings make me avoid the lensroll button.

    This is an excellent lens Linda - I particularly like the phrase: "All the words in the world won't help if people won't trust what you say. Tell people why you have a genuine heart-felt interest in an issue and not just a desire to make money".
