Conversational French Courses

French is one of the most romantic and glamorous languages in the world. The newest generation of conversational french courses can help anyone become proficient in French in very little time, especially some of the online alternatives. We'll look at the pros and cons of different methods of learning to "parlez francais."

Learn French Fast With Rocket French!

Using Conversational French Courses

Parlez Francais? No Problem! The Newest generation of conversational French courses make it easy to learn french at your own pace, and from your own home!

Conversational French courses are a great way to learn the French language. There are a few common approaches to learning French, and all of them have their merits. For example, many people will get faster results by using online audio courses, but others will respond better to written courses and using workbooks. Still others will find it easier to learn with the help of a private tutor.

In general though, the best conversational French courses all use an immersion method, where the student listens to and repeats conversational phrases in an audio format (usually either audio CDs or downloadable MP3 audio files). When used consistently, these courses can be the fastest way to learn conversational French and become fluent in the most commonly used phrases very quickly.

Of course there are other options to learn conversational French, including study vacations in France or French Canada, and adult education classes. But for many people, the price and time required to study abroad or at night classes make these options out of the question.

If you are a fairly disciplined person, using conversational French courses on your own can be the most efficient way to learn the language, and also quite a bit cheaper than either study-holidays or signing up for French classes at night school.

The downside of going the self-learning route is that the French courses will be tailored to a general audience, and not specifically designed for you. This is normally not a big concern, but there are certain types of personalities who learn better with a one on one type of tuition. Most people though, will have no problem at all "teaching themselves" using conversational French courses online or in CD or DVD formats, as long as they invest in a quality program.

One of the biggest advantages of using home study French courses is that you can fit the lessons around your specific schedule. For working adults this can be ideal, especially if you have a family, and weekly commitments to attend to.

Learn to Speak French in 8 Weeks!

These days, many conversational French courses are available online, enabling the student to get started right away. If you're the inpatient type, and would like to begin learning French as soon as possible, online courses are your best bet. After signing up for these courses, you're immediately instructed to begin downloading a series of audio files, usually in MP3 format, that you will use as you go through the program.

Normally, there are also written materials, and perhaps even printable workbooks provided with these courses. The combination of listening to and repeating to the audio, while using the written text and writing assignments is a great way to immerse yourself in French. Students can often become proficient in dozens of basic phrases in only a day or two.

In fact, a few of the more popular conversational French courses claim that students will carry on intelligent conversations in French in less than eight weeks. The possibility of learning to speak French reasonably well in eight weeks or less is very exciting. For students or business people who need to learn conversational French quickly, online "study as you go," courses provide a good balance between language immersion, and the freedom to study when your schedule allows.

Audio-based French courses allow busy individuals to make good use of their "down time," by listening to courses during their commute to and from work. As this is normally wasted time for many professionals, why not put it to good use by learning conversational French? As well as making you a more well-rounded, cultured individual, it can also open up advancements in your career.

Rocket French: The Fastest Way to Parlez Francais!

Just check the employment ads online or in any major paper and you will quickly see that bi- and tri-lingual employees are in great demand these days. The U. S. Department of Labor statistics indicate that this trend is likely to continue into the foreseeable future, so learning conversational French now will provide you with a valuable skill that could benefit your career well into the future.

So if you're ready to kick your career into high gear, or just add a new dimension to your social life, learning French has got to be the most prestigious way to do it. And there is certainly no shortage of conversational French courses to help you get there. Bon voyage!

I've always wanted to learn french, and since I retired I've started using the audio CD's. I just booked my first trip to France this summer and I can't wait to be able to order my cafe au lait in french!
