What is Conversational Hypnosis?

 

To understand the concept of conversational hypnosis we need to build an understanding of what hypnosis is. Hypnosis is about undermining a person's resistance to a belief or suggestion you want him to agree on.

When you present something to a person he will in most cases have some experience, prejudgments and believes regarding that suggestion. When an employee asks for a raise, the employer instantly take into account the importance of that certain employee, the economy and budget of the department and how other employees probably will want the same raise.

By using hypnosis you can build a rapport with your employer and eliminate several of these factors in his mind. He will be more open to your suggestion and you are more lightly to get a raise.

Wikipedia defines hypnosis as "a trance-like state that resembles sleep but is induced by a person whose suggestions are readily accepted by the subject." A hypnotist uses the power of hypnosis to get the "subject" into a state of mind where he is less likely to disagree with him.

When you watch hypnosis shows on television or use hypnosis to stop smoking you will be aware that you or the subject on television is being hypnotized.

"The Deep Trance Training Manual: Hypnotic Skills" is a hardcover book written by Igor Ledochowski in 2003. The book is an introduction to hypnosis and teaches the basics of NPL, Ericksonian Hypnosis and with techniques from Ormond McGill.

Over the short course of 100 pages the book takes you through some very basic and essential NLP skills such as calibration, eye-accessing cues, verbal predicates, establishing rapport and Milton Model,. In the end you'll also find a list of hypnotic language patterns.

"The Deep Trance Training Manual" is a great guide if you want to get into the basics of hypnosis. If you want to get into depth of conversational hypnosis and be able to implement the skills and know how to use its patterns and tecniques to get what you want I would recommend "The Power of Conversational Hypnosis"
