I had a pair of bright red ones back in the day, I miss them.

This lens brought back a lot of memories for me. I purchased my first pair of Low cut Chuck Taylors in 1965. I worked to save enough money to buy my first pair.

Chucks, as they were referred to back in the day was my "dress" sneakers and were only worn on the weekend when we go to a "social". My everyday sneakers was PF-Flyers that if you belived the commercial you easily jump over a 36" fence! Great lens with a lot of nostalgia.

Fun! I have blue ones. They always get a comment, so you deserve one, too.

Great assortment of colors and styles! I've never worn Converses myself, but I do know people who prefer them.

I love these shoes! ...Some "tennis" shoes can make a foot look huge! But, the the sparse craftsmanship in the "Converse All Star" shoes won't give that problem. ...Bonnie, I bet you are so cute in your All Stars!

My nephew wants these "old school" shoes. But personally when I had some as a kid I thought they were really uncomfortable.

I'm partial to all stars but my last pair finally gave up the ghost after years of loyal service now I just can't decide what colour to buy. 5*

Love chucks, I have over 50 pairs... My peace sign chucks are barely still holding together, and my leopard print ones always get comments :-)
  • junebugco Jun 11, 2009 @ 7:14 pm | delete
I have owned several pairs through the years. I just may have to order up another pair.

Converse All Stars are great! I used to have a pair of navy blue ones in middle school! I won't tell how long ago that was. They never go out of style! Great Lens!

Converse All Stars are a favorite in our household too! My oldest daughter got her first pair in 3rd grade and has flat out refused to wear anything else since... no matter how worn out they get. Great lens, I wish I'd thought of it!

Oh me! I remember my first pair of high top All Stars. I was so proud of them and just knew they would make me an excellent Basketball Player. My sisters didn't play basketball so that was one thing that I got new and not a hand me down. I loved my All Stars and love this lens.

I stepped in here and immediately ask myself what the heck was I doing to myself. It was if I fast rewound 40 years or so. Did ya have to remind of how I scrimped and pinched paper route money so I could get a pair of Chucks? And a black pair wasn't enough, I needed a white pair for the dress up occasions. It about broke me when Converse unleashed the red Chuck's on the world. I think I knocked over three lemonade stands to get THAT money.

Puma came to our poor little neighborhood in 1971. One kid said his Mom was buying him a pair, but I never wanted anything other than my Chucks. And I still don't!

    Thanks!

Converse All Stars have been around for a long time. One thing nice is the value one can still get for not a lot of money yet from Converse, they keep the price down. The shoes themself last a long time under normal wear. I've had a pair for many years.

Back in grade school, the coolest kids wore Converse All Stars. That was at least a few years ago - we were brand conscious even back then, riding our dinosaurs to school.
