The Everything Kids' Cookbook: From mac n cheese to double chocolate chip cookies - 90 recipes to have some finger-lickin fun

For The Little Chef In The House

The Everything Kids' Cookbook: From mac n cheese to double chocolate chip cookies - 90 recipes to have some finger-lickin fun This book was a gift for my nephew who loves cooking, it has good and plenty of easy recipes for kids, from lasagna to smoothies (which where really fun to make for the kids as these are so simple), even play dough recipe, bubbles, etc. It includes some instruction and principles of cooking, so kids learn to be careful in the kitchen, how to put the table, and also has riddles and crosswords activities between recipes. I liked it because it really teaches kids about the kitchen gadgets and how to use them, the cooking tecniques, etc.

What I didn't like about it, is that is has no color inside the book, it's like a coloring book, some texts are kind of long and without any atracting colors so my nephew didn't wanted to read all the tips and techniques in the beginning, he headed directly to the recipes, and he was really excited with all the recipes that this book has, many options to choose from.

Cooking Rocks! Rachael Ray 30-Minute Meals for Kids

Great Cookbook For The New Young Cook

Cooking Rocks! Rachael Ray 30-Minute Meals for Kids

Makes cooking with kids really enjoyable!!! I bought this cookbook for my six year old daughter as soon as it came out. We both love it!!! Mostly, we have been making the recipes in the 7-12 section, but all sections contain recipes that will appeal to everyone's palate. I have been planning one Cooking Rocks dinner into my weekly menu, and that is my daughter's night to cook (with my help, of course). Last night she and her 7 year old friend made the Mexican Rice bowl dinner- they had alot of fun and ate a HUGE amount- probably because THEY made it, or as Rachael says, they had a sense of ownership of it.

(One tip though- as with any cookbook, you may want to cut back on some of the butter, oil and salt used in some of the recipes. A few of them are a little salty or oily for my taste)

This book provides a good foundation in cooking and healthy eating in the future. It teaches the basic methods in cooking, and introduces your child to different fresh herbs and healthy veggies, such as cilantro and arugula. In a world where many young adults don't know how to cook, Rachael does our kids a big service by teaching them how to cook restaurant-quality meals at home.

The spiral-bound format makes it easy to use, and you can't beat the price!

Emeril's There's a Chef in My Soup! Recipes for the Kid in Everyone

Excellent Cookbook For Older Children

Emeril's There's a Chef in My Soup! Recipes for the Kid in EveryoneI have already tried a few of the recipes. They are easy to follow and delicious. I especially enjoy using the "Baby Bam" to kick things up a notch for my son. He's a little too young to appreciate this book yet, but he sure loves Emeril's chicken nuggets and french toast!

This book really reads well -- you can just hear Emeril talking out loud as you read these children friendly recipes. Unlike some cookbooks, this one seems really thorough. I have read all of the recipes and there don't seem to be any missing steps. Everything is carefully explained so young cooks will know what they are doing.

A really great book!

Paula Deen's My First Cookbook

Wonderful Kids Cook Book

Paula Deen's My First Cookbook

Any cookbook from Paula Deen is going to be great.
I purchased this for my 10 year old nephew who is a future chef.
The recipes are perfect for children, but best of all, everything is described in detail. Each tool, a whisk for example, will have a picture and instructions on how to use it. Cooking terms are explained so that beginners can easily understand.

I recommend this for children and anyone who is learning to cook for the first time.
