Cookie Balls
Easy and Great Tasting Cookie Balls
I started making these cookie balls the end of October and tested several different methods and varieties. On this page, I will share with you tips that worked for me and ingredients for some of the varieties I have made and enjoyed.

I have started making cookie balls this year and love the easy way you make this delicious cookie. The basic cookie recipe is very simple but the variations are only limited by your imagination. You can use most any kind of store bought cookie that can be crushed into fine crumbs. Some possibilities that come to mind are ginger snaps, thin mint cookies, sandwich cookies, and lemon cookies.
Another variation that I really liked was substituting strawberry cream cheese for a delicious strawberry flavor to the cookie balls. For these balls (pictured with this recipe) I used white almond bark for coating and red sugar sprinkled on top.
After you have dipped the ball in chocolate you can add a wide variety of toppings. Try coconuts, chopped nuts, sprinkles, chopped cherries, or red and green sugars.
Ingredients
- 2 1/3 cups vanilla wafer cookie crumbs ..finely crushed
- 1 8 oz. package cream cheese (softened)
- almond bark or chocolate for coating (I used 6 squares)
Instructions
Step 1- Mix the cookie crumbs and the cream cheese until well blended. Shape into 1 inch balls and place them on a wax paper or parchment covered baking sheet. Freeze 10 minutes.
Step 2- Melt almond bark. (I did mine in the microwave starting with 60 seconds and then stirring. I added additional time as needed in 30 second increments.)
Step 3- Dip balls in chocolate or almond bark mixture and then return to baking sheet. (See instructions under the tip of using a plastic fork to see how I did this)
Step 4- Sprinkle topping of your choice on each cookie
Step 5- Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm

Almond Bark for Easy Coating
great for cookie balls
In order to smoothly put the covering on the cookie ball, I use a plastic fork with the middle tines removed. I place the cookie on the fork and then I take a spoonful of the melted chocolate and pour it over the cookie. I allow the excess chocolate to drain off into the bowl of melted chocolate. When most of the dripping has stopped I return the cookie ball to the cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

- Hi, Fancy meeting you in the cookie section. Funny, I just got a magazine that featured these recipes and made a batch of the strawberry cookie balls. They were wonderful!
With all the recipes here lately, my freezer is groaning so I'm going to have to get more friends to give the cookies to. I'm wondering if the cookie balls are going to be the sequel to the "cupcake." Blessings.

- Just wondering if you could make these with pre-made graham cracker crumbs, or would they be too finely ground? Just a thought to make it easier. :)
