Who Is Cookie Monster?
Where Cookie Monster got his start
Cookie Monster was first introduced on the famous muppet show, Sesame Street, in 1969. He did not have his infamous name during his first appearance though; that came later. His first sketch was with Kermit the Frog. Cookie Monster came out while Kermit was taking about the letter 'W' and took a bite out of it. He keeps munching on the 'W' until is dwindles down to an 'I' and then, to Kermit's frustration, he tries to take a bit out of Kermit. It was not long before he introduced his iconic saying "Me eat cookie". America was hooked.Although Cookie Monster ate almost anything, edible and unedible alike, his favorite food was cookies. His favorite is chocolate chip followed by oatmeal cookies.

Decorate party hats or drinking cups
Each child could decorate their own party hat and / or drinking cup. Start with a plain blue party hat or cup and write the child's name on the bottom. Print out a Cookie Monster mouth from the above template for each child. The child (or adult) then cuts out the mouth and glues it and some wiggly eyes on the side of the cup or hat to make a Cookie Monster face.
