Tea and Cookies with Grandma
Create wonderful memories for your grandchildren by having a tea party just for them. Pick a theme and make it a dress-up tea party. Make sure the children know that this is a very special occasion. It encourages their best behavior and good manners.
Above all - have fun. Have each child make a fancy hat for the occasion or while at the tea party.
Start a Cookie Jar Collection with your grandchildren.... How many different cookie jars are there? I was amazed at how many I found here!
My Carrot Cookie Recipe for you
1 cup butter
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Egg
1 cup finely grated carrot
zest of 1 small orange (zest is finely grated outer skin of the orange)
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
First combine zest with grated carrot and set aside.
Then cream sugar and butter. Add vanilla and egg - beat well. Add carrot and zest. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
Drop small teaspoon size cookies on a cookie sheet and bake 10 to 15 minutes in a 375'F oven.
This delightful cookie jar holds about 7 cups or 1 batch of their favorite cookies!
