Kids love to help in the kitchen and these yummy chocolate truffles are just the treat. This simple recipe has been developed with children in mind.
The young children around you, whether your own or in your classroom or youth group, will enjoy making these little chocolate treats.

Chocolate Truffle Recipe
Easy recipes for children

Ingredients:
100 grams milk chocolate drops (chocolate chips)
25 grams (1 ounce) butter
25 grams (1 ounce) icing sugar (powdered sugar)
50 grams (2 ounces) plain cake, crumbled into fine crumbs
4 tablespoons chocolate sugar strands
small paper cases
Method:
- Fill a saucepan 1/4 full of water and heat until boiling.
- Place the chocolate and butter into a bowl. Place the bowl into the pan of heated water. Use oven gloves or have a grown up helper.
- Stir the chocolate and butter until it has all melted. Carefully lift the bowl out of the water. Use oven gloves or a grown up helper.
- Using a sieve, sift the icing sugar into the bowl. Add the cake crumbs and stir everything well to make a smooth mixture.
- Leave the chocolate to cool in the bowl. While it cools, spread out the sugar strands onto a plate.
- When the mixture is firm and thick, scoop some up with a teaspoon and form into a small ball. Roll it around in the sugar strands until well coated.Touch the chocolate with your fingers as little as possible as it will melt.
- Put the truffle into a paper case. then, make the rest of the truffles in the same way. Put them all onto a plate.
- Put the plate into the fridge for 30 minutes to chill. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge.

These truffles do not last long, so eat them up quickly.

To make these truffles a little bit more exciting for adults, you could add a tablespoon of rum or brandy to the chocolate while melting. Then form into balls and roll in cocoa powder or dessicated coconut.
Try using a dark chocolate as well for an added punch.
