Fingerprint ATM
Maybe this technology already exist. But this is really a great idea.
The guy actually is right. Fingerprints of people are different. It will serve as a unique identifier for the ATM account. no need for memorizing PIN numbers. In terms of security, this is idea is great provided that your account will rely on your personal biometric. It can't be cracked unless someone forces you to use your print. Availability is also not a problem provided that, your fingers are always attached (don't cut them or you'll have a problem.) This will also reduce the need to produce cards, which in turn help the sustainability of the environment.

Charge Your iPod/iPhone with Kinetic Energy
Exercise and charge up, not only your body but also your gadgets.
It's nice to listen to music or talk to a friend over a phone, while jogging or taking on the treads. Have you ever wondered, what if, while you're jogging, you are charging up the batteries of your iPod or your phone? This could be possible. According to some scientist, it is possible to harness kinetic energy from vibration and convert it to Electrical Energy. When we are jogging, we create a lot of vibration and this could be enough to charge up our gadgets battery. If this happens, we will never worry about running out of charge. All we have to do "run forest, run!".
Healthy Body, Healthy Battery. Your Say.

Sounds pretty eco-friendly! But I bet you'll have to do A LOT of jogging.
ellagis says:
I like the idea. Although my mobile would be always off of battery! :D
Businessflybee says:
yup yup but doesn't always work for every one ooops :D

Elevator Display Ads
This is one of the greatest business idea I've read.
A guy named builder who has a lot of common sense, wrote about this unusual but really great idea. Placing an ultra-thin plasma/LED screen on elevator doors to display ads. His idea sprang when he realized that, passengers do nothing on the elevator aside from looking mostly at the sliding door. This is a strategic way for advertisers to make their products known to the public. Elevators carry hundreds of passengers everyday. It's a good share when it comes to reaching your products to the public. This could make the owner of the building profit from the companies who want to display their ads on your elevator. Companies also increase their possibilities of creating profit by targeted ads. This is really a great idea. Advertising on elevator doors. For me it's a thumbs up!
Great idea for business. Do you think its great?

knit1tat2 says:
The closest I've seen to this are poster ads taped on the elevator walls! A bit tacky, but talk about a captive audience!
ellagis says:
It's true, when you're in an elevator you look carefully at the doors!!! Very interesting idea.... and it could be better if there were a way to supply the screens with the cynetic energy of the lift.
Quickcutters says:
Never thought about this one but hey why not. Advertising is every where now so seeing it there I'm shocked that we don't see it now.
NOT
Tiggered says:
So I won't even be able to be elevated without ads? How about putting the ads on the inside door of your fridge? Squashing people with ads everywhere is starting to give companies negative image instead of positive
Receipt Card
A way to minimize the usage of paper receipts. Eases self-accounting.
A good idea by a guy named Mitch is to have a card, much like a credit card, but functions more of an electronic receipt which stores all your purchases and expenses. This could cut the cost of making paper for traditional receipts. It is also hard to store traditional paper receipts because it wears and tears easily in time. It is also hard to track your purchases in previous times because you still need to look at the receipts one by one. With this receipt card, you can check your purchases and search easily from previous dates, because it is stored in a database/memory within your card. You can also check it via your computer or through the internet. It is a great idea for people who are really tracking all their expenses.
What about receipt cards? Anyone?

ellagis says:
Not really sure about it. I like the idea to reduce the consumption of paper, but.... I have a conflictual relationship with magnetic cards. They have the bad habit to break..... too easily, maybe :)
Quickcutters says:
I am not to crazy about that idea. Most people just throw them in the trash unless business people that have to.
Car Alarm Interfaces with Phone
Being informed about your car's situation improves security.
Imagine, when your car alarm starts to go, A voice prompt or text message from your car will be sent to your phone. It's quite amazing! It will automatically alert you that your car is danger! Anyways. The alert will send you information on the location of your car. It could also be equipped with some kind of signal transmission to stop your car's circuitry so that it wouldn't start up.This idea could make your car more secure. It could also be enhanced by relaying a message to the nearest police station configured in your system in case your car is stolen. It could also have GPS tracking enabled when your alarm goes and send the current location of your car to your phone via text or voice.
Car alerts Phone. What about that?

Well i have to say i did forget where i parked at the mall a few times. So this maybe a good idea.

Electronic Menu in Restaurants
Fast service with less error
A great idea from Ashley of the united states is, an electronic menu in restaurants. This is not a scheme to replace waiters, instead, this idea could help waiters because it leaves little room for error and it means, more tip for them. This idea is not really new. Actually, some really techy restaurants do use these electronic menu. But mostly, waiters still tend to wait for those tablets or iPads. Why not create a network with which the menu is linked to a central device identifying the table number with the exact orders. This central device is linked to the chef. It could also have a feature for following up your order in case it takes too long and the chef will give you a feedback on how many minutes left before your meal will be served. I guess this will go well with the receipt cards. Electronic menu. your opinion?
Restroom Chain
Where you need some privacy or just need to take a shower.
Have you ever need a restroom so badly? This yair guy conceptualize the idea of having chain of restrooms, much like the McDonalds food chain. You can buy yearly membership card and have access to other rests areas within your country. In this rest area, you have access to showers, toilets, baby changing area, nursing area, vending machines that sell toiletries etc. (No wonder this guy wants this to be called McRestroom). This chain will also be secured with guards to avoid civil disobedience and maintenance crew to keep the place clean. You will never have to go from store to store to find restrooms and be frustrated because they tell you it is out of order. Go McRestrooms! "White Roofs" slows Global Warming
Dark colors absorb more visible light, White reflects all visible light
As I was reading the newspaper, there was this one article that caught my attention. It was a college project of biology students headed by Kim Lucero, where, they try to paint all the roofs in the community white in order to slow the effect of global warming. The idea wasn't new and the concept was really easy (white reflects all visible light therefore less heat to the planet, dark colors do the opposite and absorb light thereby creating more heat.). But the fact that, they are applying the concept in a community is a very crucial step. If it is supported by the government, a mandate could be made to make every structure's top white. Covering a large area with white means, more light is reflected and less heat is absorbed.Very intelligent move indeed for these college students. I myself am planning to repaint our roof with white and encourage our neighbors to do the same. It's a project I will undergo after the rainy season. Imagine the effects in the environment if housing and other infrastructures make their tops white.
White roofs to slow the effects of global warming
Digital Necktie
Imagine one necktie suited to all occassions.
The one necktie to rule them all. Forged within the fires of Mordor... wait, I'm dreaming of Lord of the Rings again. An idea from yair is a necktie whose fabric is a very thin lcd or led display. You can change the design to suit the events or activities that you do with simply setting an option. You can also store images downloaded from the internet and store it in the neckties database or in your computer. designs can be synced just like using an iPod/mp3 player. Amazing how you can just have one tie.
I guess the building blocks of these electronic fabrics are on the process of experimentation. I think what they should look at is how can these fabrics be 100% water proof. You can't really avoid being stained.
Digital Necktie. A hottie or a nottie?

- Interesting ideas. About fingerprints, there's a guy here who killed his mother, cut her thumb and buried her in the yard. He kept the thumb in the freezer and every month removed it and used it to cash his mother's pension (she was illiterate so she had to use her thumb to sign). With the millions of criminals around in the world, I wonder if they too wouldn't get the idea to do similar things. And with ATMs it would be much easier. Rafick

- That's also a big disadvantage with fingerprints on ATM. It increases felony. A thing they could do is maybe put other security features.
