Cool Laser Therapy - For Knee Pain and so much More

Today many people are paralyzed or almost paralyzed with pain, so I wanted to share something I found to help with pain.

Also I wanted it to be something that will not harm the body - because so many treatments do harm to the body.

Now there is a new class of treatments that ''Do no harm' -at all. . They are called Cool Lasers or Low Level Laser Therapy.

I am so very happy to be reporting on this technology.

What exactly is Cool Laser Therapy?

Cool Laser Therapy is also called Low Level or Soft Laser Therapy and is a painless, sterile, non-invasive, drug-free treatment which is used to treat a variety of pain syndromes, injuries, wounds, fractures, neurological conditions and pathologies.

WOW - could you ever imagine that light could do so much?

I am particularly happy that these types of treatments "Do no Harm." And, that is exactly what doctors promise when they take their oath, so that pleases me about these Cool or Low Level Lasers.

I began my search because of intense knee pain that stopped me from getting my work done, interfered with my happiness, and generally made me miserable. So, this page will focus primarily on knee pain and it's solution. But, that will not be the end of this story - no not by a long shot.

What I have discovered is that Cold Laser Therapy is useful for a multitude of health issues and situations. So, subsequent pages will focus on LLLT for those uses.

I will be adding to this material as I go through my own Cool Laser Therapy, so please check back or book-mark it to be able to get the follow-up material as it is offered.

Great Health to You,

Enjoy!

Why Did I Decide to Study Cool or Low Level Lasers?

Low Lever Laser Therapy - Many Health Uses

Positive energy from the sun is the source of all life on Earth. So is it any wonder that my study into erasing my own pain would lead me to light being the solution?

Please allow me to explain:

A few months ago I felt like I had a blowout of my right knee. I had already gone through a total knee replacement on my other knee, and I wanted to find something to help heal this knee that was safe, non-invasive, and would not damage my body further.

Also, I felt that drugs are to be used only as a last resort for me.

I am just blown away by what I am learning about low level lasers, or soft lasers or cool lasers. Yes, this treatment or therapy goes by a few different names. This type of therapy is different than the hot lazers that cut and burn - that we first learned about.

Are Cold or Low Level Lasers a cure all? No, no modality is, but. after studying the facts I feel that you will agree that they should be integrated into treatments and at least be considered. Sometimes people do feel as if they are magical.

I do hope you enjoy this material, and I feel positive that you too will find it useful.

Sometimes Pain Stops Us in Our Tracks

This Section is dedicated to Dr. Alexandra K Schnee B.S., D.C., - Thank you for the interview

Dr. Alexandra Schnee- LLLT

Dr. Schnee has dedicated her work to the betterment of people with knee pain and issues. With that in mind she has been using and advocating the use of Cool Lasers in conjunction to her other therapies in her clinic. In that way it is a form of integrative medicine and therapies.

She has become a specialist in this arena. She uses an array of low level lasers to accomplish what ever the issue is, and has build a great reputation in this arena.

Dr. Schnee spoke to me working with people with many different knee issues, and the success rate that is enjoyed. That positive success rate is 79.9%. And the improvements are from 50-100%.. Also, with some they are able to enjoy a few more years before needing surgery. With others they do not need surgery, but may need a schedule of follow-ups.

Success Stories Using Cold Laser Therapy

Dr. Schnee using LLLT on Knee

Martha, a 71 year old woman had constant throbbing pain in her right knee which interfered with her walking, stair climbing, activities, and of course her rest, sleep and entire life.

An orthopedic surgeon said she was bone on bone, and recommended a total knee replacement when she could no longer stand the pain.

What therapies did she use? She tried pain medications, injections, exercise in rehab, but there was no relief.

Then she went to Dr. Schnee and tried her treatments which also included cold laser therapy. The doctor explained everything to her in detail, which helped her to understand the situation.

What was her result? She is pleased with Dr. Schnee and the cold laser therapy. She says her result is a 90% improvement, and she couldn't be happier.

Another Success Story

Mr. Royce R. is a retired military man. He had extremely excruciating pain in his right knee. It felt like it was raw and bleeding on the inside. He had to use a cane and wear knee braces to just get around. Also, he was putting more pressure on his left leg and knee, just to handle his situation. He got to the point of dreading getting up and even trying to care of necessary activities of daily living.

His orthopedic surgeon told him he needed a knee replacement immediately. He didn't want one, so his surgeon sent him to a physical therapist.

Mr. Royce R talked to the physical therapist about cold laser therapy. The therapist told him to go for it.

He did. He drove 3 hours each way twice a week for 10 weeks to go to the Low Lever or Cold Laser Therapy with Dr. Schnee.

What was his result?

He said he did a 360 degree turn in how he lived and what he was able to do.

Originally he went to the clinic worried about surgery, medications, injections and even worried if cold laser therapy works. Now he tells everyone to give it a try. He has his life back.

Einstein was even at the forefront of this Therapy!

Albert Einstein was so impressed with the study of light he said: "I will think for the rest of my life about what light is." He was the first who theorized L.A.S.E.R., as an acronym and stands for: Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.

So, it is a focused and amplified stream of light, originally one wave length, but, now the therapeutic uses are going to multi colors or wave lengths.

What I especially appreciate about using light as therapy is this; in the last century we have been using medical treatments that focus mostly on drugs, that are all different types of poisons and different amounts will all kill, ( drugs are not classified as such unless they can kill) or surgery which is invasive. Cool or low level laser therapy, in contrast, works in a completely different way. It encourages the body to repair itself by stimulating the body at the cellular level. And the best part is that there is no harm being done to the body.

Doesn't that remind you of part of the oath that doctors took that says: "Above all else, do not harm." Hmmmm. I think we should give these cool lasers a long thoughtful consideration.

How do Low Level Lasers - Cold Lasers or Soft Lasers work?

LLLT used in chiropractic offices

Pain results from trauma, inflammation and/or cellular disruption, malfunction, or less than optimal cellular function.

Healing and pain relief come with cellular normalization.

Photons enable cells to perform optimally by stimulating them to initiate bio-chemical reactions, which produce enzymes and ATP (usable energy).

Use of low level lasers (cold lasers or soft tissue lasers) enhances cellular function and it can also encourage the formation of collagen and cartilage in damaged joints and the repair of tendons and ligaments.

Cold lasers and soft tissue lasers are gentle and non-heating to the tissues. They are configured with frequencies and power densities that are favorable to the cells and tissues of the body. They have no affect on healthy cells, only unhealthy ones.

That's a pretty accurate description of how cold lasers work.

In interviewing creators/owners of lasers and laser companies I feel that this is one of the best lasers out there.

I am also planning on getting one of these lasers for my own use. Yes, they are expensive, but, over the long term how much are you already spending on your pain and suffering. And most things are medications-which have a multitude of side effects.

The choice is yours - so choose carefully.

This sounds wonderful. I wonder if it is in any way related to the red light therapy a friend of mine has been using with great results, both on herself and on her horses?
  • Carmel_Aaron Jun 29, 2011 @ 1:24 pm | delete
Actually yes it is a form of light therapy. I am still learning, but, there are many different lasers being used that are classified as low level or cool therapy. And yes, they are purported to be great for horses as well as other animals.
