Memorial Day Angel's Road Trip To The Sculpture Neighborhood
I spent the Memorial Day weekend in the Sculpture neighborhood for The Squid Angel Memorial Day Weekend Bus Trip. I found some really great lenses over there! Everything from ice sculpting & recycled art to polymer clay tutorials!

Dale Chihuly Glass Sculptures
The lens below features amazing glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly. I loved this lens because I had the pleasure of seeing some of these stunning pieces of art in person.
The picture to the right is of me standing next to one of his pieces at Atlantis Resort Hotel in the Bahamas.

The challenge was to bring beauty to paradise -- and the Sun and Moon. Sol Kerzner asked Dale Chihuly to make dazzling yet approachable sculpture for the new Atlantis Resort Hotel on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Chihuly's answer: four sculptures that respond to Atlantis' architecture and the singular beauty of the site. The Crystal Gate is a glittering tower of crystal soaring nearly 20 feet into the air. The Temple of the Sun has more than 2,300 yellow, orange, and red elements radiating from a fiery globe atop a replica of a Mayan temple. The opalescent white and cobalt blue glass of the Temple of the Moon seems to glow and fill the room with a cool light. Finally, the magnificent Atlantis Seaform Chandelier displays the sealife forms of jellyfish, anemones, squid, and seaweed in delicate shades highlighted with silver and gold. In this extravagant book, designed by Werkhaus Design of Seattle, each piece is shown from concept through completion. Chihuly, working with a collaborative and creative team of artists, glassblowers, technicians, and installers, has created glass sculptures that dazzle with the magic of light.

Ice Sculpture
The lens below features some awe inspiring ice sculptures.
A few years back I had the pleasure of helping organize an outdoor art's & entertainment event with ice sculptor: Dan Harri (shown on right)
The highlight of the event was a live demonstration of Dan sculpting a huge block of ice using just a chainsaw. Below the lens you can view a few more photos from the event and a link to the article in the Suncoast News.

Towl Origami
The great lens below features Towel Origami instruction guides. I love seeing these little guys. I take pics of these when my husband and I vacation. Watermelon Carving
Another of my favorites. I love seeing these things. I also have photos of chocolate sculptures but that is for another lens.
The photo to the right is one from our trip to the Bahamas. I have more from other spots will ad soon.
