Speed cameras - 6 top tips to avoid fines
1. Don't exceed the speed limit - but if you do and get caught :
2. Make sure that all the details are correct on the speed ticket.
3. The notification of intended prosecution, has to be sent to you within fourteen 14 days (plus a day or so allowed for post to get to you)
4. Check that the vehicle details & date, time and location of the alleged speeding offence are correct. However a minor typograhical error will not help you.
5. If it was a speed camera ticket, go back to the original site. Are the speed limit signs correct and legal (for instance they must be on both sides of the road, and not obscured by trees etc Take (non-digital) photos if necessary.
6. If you are sure that you were not speeding you can ask for copies of the photographs and other evidence
