Peak Performance

The bones of the skeleton hold us up and the muscles move us through space. To go one step further, nerves tell muscles to move bones. The ability to move and perform well depends of these relationships and when they align properly the body achieves peak efficiency.

Stand up and feel how your body lives in space. Do you have to work to hold your self up? If the bones are aligned your muscles will have very little work to do. The bones will stack one on top of the other allowing energy and weight to transfer through them.
A straight line passing through the ears, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles follows the plumb line of gravity and supports effortless movement and peak performance.

How Can I do These Tricks?

The body is designed to work and walk in a specific pattern but it doesn't take much for it to fall apart. If your car gets a flat you are not going to go very far - not so with your body. For example, if the inside of the foot falls into disrepair the outside of the foot will begin to help and you will keep on walking. The problem with this is that the outside of the foot is then compromised in its original purpose, because it has now taken on two roles instead of one.
It is very easy to go through life accepting your posture and your aches and pains as part of the process. You can probably walk the way you walk and reach your dying day without much trouble. But you can also rebuild your self in an image of your choice. Check out the FitzGordon Method Core Walking Program to start to learn how to use your body.
