Where Can You Buy Cooling Dog Beds Cheap?

It's important to get the best quality you can find in the choice of beds for dogs.

Your dog should always have somewhere comfortable to sleep at night and rest during the day. Preferably something cool like a trampoline bed or cooling bed in summer, and a cosy warm bed in winter.

Comfort is important and becomes more important as your dog gets older and starts to suffer from arthritis and general aching old bones and muscles.

A good quality bed will also have features like being able to remove the covers for cleaning and washing, so look for all the things that make life easier for you in maintaining the hygiene of your dog's bedding.

My dogs have a selection of beds (Bella Ella has 7 large beds and Casper has two more small beds and 2 chairs extra to choose from = 11 bed - Goodness gracious me!!) including, trampoline suspended beds, bean bags, foam mattress beds and simple cushioned carpet rugs. As both my dogs are at least 15 years old, they sleep A LOT during the day as well as all night long, so they like to be able to shuffle between the different styles of beds so that they can keep shifting their weight and positions in their beds.

I think that having this variety saves them from the stiffness in the joints that other elderly dogs often suffer from all night long. I have found a good selection of durable beds for dogs to give you some variety to choose from.

Is there such a thing as a truly durable dog bed?

If you have cared for dogs for a few years you soon come to realize that there is no such thing as a truly durable bed that will last a dog it's 12+ years lifetime.

But when you think about it, we also have to get new bed mattresses, and of course, constantly update our bed coverings as they wear and tear, so why do we expect it to be any different for our dogs beds?

I think the first things to look for are things like:

Is the cover able to come off and be washed?

Can the dog scratch holes in the cover (or waterbed bladder)?

How heavy will the bed be if you need to move it for cleaning etc.?

Is it an all seasons bed, or does it only need to suit certain seasons eg: summer or winter extreme temperatures?

You can find out all you need about these things when you shop online. In fact, I get a lot more information about products online than when I'm in the stores and trying to read inadequate labels, and getting no help from shop assistants.

And you can always email the retailer or manufacturer for more information when you have found the product online compared to going from store to store. And the fact that you don't have to physically drag a huge dog bed all the way home is another reason to shop online and have products delivered to your door!

Have you guessed yet that I much prefer online shopping to pounding the pavement?

I bought this bed for my Golden Retriever puppy, since he had chewed up the zipper on his last (much cheaper) bed. He loves it!

We also have a 10 year old Golden who has never been interested in a dog bed. She has practically taken this one over!

The puppy just stares at her lying on HIS bed, so I'm going to purchase another one. It must be really comfortable for her to want to sleep on one after 10 years of trying different ones.

Heated dog beds are important for older dogs and small dogs in Winter.

Look for the kinds of beds for dogs that provide warmth or have allowance for a heating pad in them.

When the coldest part of winter bites into our bones, we will inevitably turn on the electric blanket on our beds. Well, your dogs would like to do the same in their beds too!

It's a good thing that nowadays you can buy beds with heating elements built into them, or with foam padding that insulates body heat, or you can get mini dog bed heating pads, that act like electric blankets when you add it to your dog's bed.

Safety is a must here, and you have to make sure that what you buy cannot be chewed through by your dog, or that if your dog is very elderly and a bit incontinent, that liquid / urine cannot somehow leak into the heating elements of the bedding.

Some dog beds even have a massage mode fitted to soothe those aching canine muscles!

It's not often I find a product I like as much as this bed. If I could give it six stars, I would.

Pet beds are often cold places because they are so close to the floor.
I had to look a long time to find a safe, quality heated pet bed. And this one only uses 9 watts of electricity! That's practically nothing.

This bed provides a very gentle, mild heat. You can turn it on and it will almost feel like it isn't on. But, if you place your hand or forearm on it for a few minutes, you will feel a gentle warmth where you skin is touching the bed. With a pet's fur, this must be more than enough heat.

Throw a blanket on the bed on particularly cold nights and you'll likely find your dog crawling between it and the bed.

Too many times I've found my dog shivering, even on what I considered fairly warm nights. Still, I didn't know how she'd react to one of these Petsafe Wellness beds. It turns out she likes this bed very much.

She used to want to sleep on the couch at night. I'm guessing this was because it is higher off the ground. But I haven't found her on the couch once since I gave her this bed. Every night I find her on the bed, whether I've turned the heat on or not.

She even likes the vibration feature when I turn it on. It's a very gentle vibration that cycles on and off, and she must find it soothing.

The bed is very well made. The cords on the controller are protected so that a dog or cat can't chew through them. The switches on the controller feel solid and sure. The fabrics and stitching on the bed appear to be of a very high quality. My dog's been using her bed for several months with no signs of wear.

This bed comes in three sizes. My dog is on the small size of medium and would fit on the medium sized bed, but I bought the large so that she would have plenty of room to stretch out. This allows me to have one of her blankets on one side of the bed while the other remains uncovered.

I find her lying in a variety of positions on all parts of the bed. That makes me glad I bought the large bed.

If you want your pet to always have a warm and comfortable place to sleep, I highly recommend this bed. I've even bought an extra one in case the one she's using ever wears out.

(I don't own a cat, but when I'm taking care of my brother's cat he'll try to monopolize the bed. Luckily it's big enough for him and my dog.)

We have a 14yr old Boxer that has bad hips. She LOVES this bed and it really helps her get comfortable.

My wife takes the cover off once a week and washes it and it has not faded or shrunk. We are very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

I was surprised by how soft the beige fleece-like top is - it doesn't ball up and gather hair like the other bed.

It is easily removed and can be thrown in the washer.

I guess my only critique of the product is that after two washings, some strings are sticking out of the cover - it does not appear to be falling apart at all, though.

I hope the cover lasts through many washings. This bed is about 4" thick. Inside, there is a piece of foam that is really two pieces glued together.

The bottom is about 2" of regular yellow foam and there is about a 2" piece of egg-crate memory foam on top.

I was afraid my heavy dog would sink through it and her elbows would hurt from the floor, but I tested it by laying down on it myself.

Even I didn't sink through to the floor!



.... hmmmm, sounds pretty good to me! Move over and make room for me Fido!

This product is PERFECT for your pet on those chilly nights. We have 2 boxers that sleep in separate beds and they used to sleep in tight little balls but now they lie sprawled out from one end of the beds to the other!

The warmer doesn't get too hot (which is good) so you have to place it under a slender piece of material or it doesn't work very well. For example, one of our beds is a normal egg shell with a fabric cover and we have the warmer inside of a pillowcase and zipped up between the fabric and egg shell and it works great.

On the other bed, it has a thick pillow as a base so we had to put the warmer on top of the pillow and then cover it with a blanket; otherwise, with the warmer under the pillow the top of the pillow never got warm.

The key thing to remember is that these are WARMERS so they don't feel warm enough to a person but they get PLENTY warm for a pet.
