Nikon Coolpix P90~ My Favorite New Toy

I Love To Take Pictures, So I Decided To Give The New Nikon Coolpix P90 A Try

I have a new favorite toy!

I've been shopping around for a new camera for the last few months, and I finally decided on the Nikon Coolpix P90.

I had a hard time deciding between a digital point and shoot, and a digital SLR camera. So I studied the features of several cameras, and narrowed it down to the Coolpix P90.

I take a ton of photos, so I wanted something I could haul around with me everywhere I go. I was afraid if I went with a SLR camera I wouldn't want to haul around the extra lenses and equipment. So I was afraid I wouldn't use it as much.

The Coolpix P90 was as close to an SLR camera as I could get without actually buying one. So far I haven't been disappointed it takes beautiful photos! I have some showcased here so check 'em out!

My Favorite Nikon Coolpix P90 Photo So Far

I've taken over a thousand photos on my P90 so far (in a little over a month). So far this is one of my favorite photos.

My new Coolpix P90 is incredibly easy to use. Even if you just point and shoot you get great photos!

I love all the special features including the 24x zoom, image stabilization, and the large view finder I can swivel around to take overhead, and angle shots.

My Review

I ordered my Coolpix P90 right before I left on vacation. I'm glad I did. I took my trusty old camera along on vacation too, since I was just getting used to the P90. When I pulled the old camera out of my purse to take a quick photo it was dead.

I had to have a crash course on using the new P90, so I'm glad it was easy to learn! I was getting great shots in no time.

My old camera took AA batteries, and I was constantly changing them, even when I used the lithium. I love that the Nikon P90 has it's own rechargeable battery. I took it to a bridal show, and to a 50th wedding anniversary and captured over 300 images each time and the battery was still going strong after each event. The camera comes with the battery and charger.

I also love the swivel view finder. I've already used that feature a couple times to hold the camera above my head and capture a shot.

I'm not the technical camera person, so I can't tell you all the technical details of this camera, I can just tell you that so far I love it.

My Favorite P90 Features

  • 24x optical wide-angle (26-624mm) Zoom-Nikkor ED glass lens

  • 3.0-inch Vari-Angle LCD and Electronic Viewfinder

The Nikon coolpix P90 takes great pictures and has and excellent 24x zoom capability. If it could only shoot in HD movie mode it would be the perfect camera.

What brilliantly sharp images! I'm looking for one to take local wildlife shots so it was good to see the quality that this camera takes.

Very nice short and sweet review of a great camera. With camera's there is a huge choice with advancements in technology happening as we "speak", so it's important to do some research (like you suggest) before making an investment like this...great job, great choice, great pictures! : )
