Vintage Postcard Collecting on Ebay

What I do is buy some of the large lots of cards, or albums of cards you see listed under State Views >Mixed Lots on eBay. Then you can sort through all the cards you get, and sort them by categories that interest you.

The idea is to keep the ones you want to hang onto as your own collection, and sell the rest you dont want. Then you can just list the extras on eBay, or Playle.com and use the money you get to buy another large lot of cards. This makes for an affordable, entertaining hobby.

You can also look at the individual cards for sale on eBay, of course. There is huge selection to choose from.

Use the ebay search functions to your advantage. If you look at the "advanced search" page on ebay you can save your searches, and have ebay email you whenever an item is posted that matches the searches you enter.

Dont forget to look in the Stores section, under advanced search, for store inventory items. They usually dont appear in the standard auction search box.

Unidentified Real Photo Postcards can be a great find, if you can research them and figure out the specific location. That both makes them more valuable, and allows other collectors to find it in the search engine.
