How to find products to sell on ebay that sell each and every time you put them up for auction?
I am going to reveal a secret to which you already know the answer. You just don't know you know. The secret to eBay products sourcing and one of the key secrets of eBay power sellers is knowing the one basic product category that mysteriously seems to sell like hotcakes at a Sunday brunch.
You can sell just about anything on eBay. If you have lots of money, have done in depth product research, and have a shrewd marketing plan, you can even break into selling dvds and sexy consumer electronic gadgets such as iPhones, dvd players, Mp4 players and the like.
Believe it or not, there is an eBay products supply source that requires,
and, best of all, sell well. Very well.
Please hang in there with me and read our article on EBay Products that Can't Fail to Sell.
A Few Pointers about Dropshipping companies and Wholesalers Merchandise
Telling the Product Supplier Trees from the Woods
understanding the difference between a gimmick that makes money and a business. Ecommerce is a business. In ecommerce, a key issue is product sourcing, and so one of the biggest secrets is understanding how whole sale and dropship product sourcing work. Or is it? Well, yes, but don't get carried away by the word, "secret."
Basically, by working with a drop ship vendor that you find yourself or through an online wholesale dropship directory, you will not be required to purchase large quantities of wholesale products. Therefore, you will not need to warehouse those products until they are sold and you will never have the time consuming task of packaging and shipping those products.
When orders are placed through a dropship supplier they process the order and ship to the purchaser. You company label with your address can be part of the packaging to make it look like it shipped from your company. It can also be arranged to have them process returned items.
This sounds good, doesn't it? It can be good. If you know what you are doing. We'll be talking more about online wholesale directories, but if you go this route, and it can be good one, the directory must be reliable.
Take a moment to find out more about this legitimate online wholesale directory
We will talk more about directory memberships in future updates. Coming up, however, I think we should look at some of the different kinds of product distribution sources and ways we can begin to do our own research to find the products we need to make our home business a success. Without this information, you may lose a great income opportunity.
Understanding the Kinds of Product Supplier Sources Available for Home Business
Is Drop Ship wholesale the Only Game in Town?
For those of you who are new at this, it is vital that you understand what it is that makes a wholesaler a true wholesale business. A real wholesale product business has its own special business license to distribute goods from manufacturers without charging sales tax. Typically, these prices are substantially below retail, though that depends on the product area. (The profit margin in popular consumer electronics, for example, is generally very low, unless you are able to negotiate lower prices by buying really large bulk quantities.) My point, however, is that a real wholesale business must require proof of a sales tax permit and is not even allowed, legally, to sell retail. And, by the way, some wholesalers offer dropshipping as a service for which they may or may not charge extra. These days, big, warehouse dropshipping businesses have sprung up, but these are really middlemen. That is, retail businesses selling at steeply discounted prices.
Businesses who sell low cost goods or advertise "wholesale prices" but do not need proof of your sales tax permit are not true wholesalers. They may be perfectly legitimate businesses, but they are not wholesalers. Even if their prices turn out to be genuine wholesale prices, if they don't need your sales tax permit, they are not licensed as wholesale businesses.
I see I've gotten off track. This article is about kind of product supply sources. Here is my list:
- wholesale distributors
- liquidation closeout specialists
- factory distributors
- local manufacturers
- local and/or regional crafts,artisans, and artists
- local retail closeout or negotiated prices
- miscellaneous discount product suppliers (not true wholesale)
- warehouse dropship distributors
What I want you to see is that you have a bit more lattitude then you might think if you've been bombarded with hype about wholesale dropship product supply.
If you are an eBay or prospective eBay seller dropshipping will generally not work for you unless you have a product niche that no one else is selling in. You can read more about that in this eBay power seller secret article.
Coming up, we will talk more about the product supply sources and perhaps more important to you, how you can do your own research.
By the way, there is a secret to making dropshipping work on eBay or with any online business. You can find the secret at Dropshipping Sucks.

How Not To Lose--Tips for Whole Sale Product Success
This might be a little confusing, so let me try to say this again. Before the extreme popularity and promotion of ecommerce as a home based Internet business solution, dropshipping was something that was generally negotiated between you, the reseller, and the wholesale distributor or, if you are lucky, the actual manufacturer of the product.
Here is a short list of some of the high visibility dropship whole sale product distributors you may encounter in a casual Internet search:
Now, whether or not these are "best rated," I can't say because, honestly, I have no way of gathering on short notice accurate data. However, I can tell you that these are generally considered to be no scam businesses. I say that because I've listened to a lot of forum talk from current and former users of the above dropshippers, and the consensus is that they are honest, legitimate businesses.
The one thing I advise you to be careful of is joining any of the above services with the intention of selling on eBay. EBay product sourcing, especially when you are selling mass market consumer goods, is very tricky, and eBay is already a wholesale environment.
The dropshipping "wholesalers" mentioned above can be workable business models in a non eBay ecommerce environment. Or perhaps you are thinking of selling in a fleamarket environment or using classified adds. One other thing to be aware of is that the companies list above, even though well thoguht of no scam dropshippers, are not true wholesalers because they do not require proof of a sales tax permit.
More about this in future updates. Two online directory sources you may be interested in checking out are:
and
These are directory resources. They are not product suppliers. They provide the contacts and leads to product suppliers. Salehoo has a very good online wholesale dropship product supply source community with a lot of sharing going on. I'm a Salehoo member myself and am happy with the service. It is important to understand that neither Aid and Trade nor Salehoo are systems for making money. Again, they are not money making systems. They will put you in touch with the product suppliers, no scam product supplier, but it is up to you to turn a profit.
For a somewhat novel, more off the wall solution, but much less expensive, see Dropshipping Sucks.
More coming up in the next update.
