Being involved in the health and fitness industry for more than 25 years, I've come to realize that we try to complicate fitness way too much.  What do I mean by that?  Well I believe that we can all achieve high levels of fitness with minimal equipment, and minimal time invested. No expensive machines, no crowded gyms with monthly dues, one can get the job done right at home.

Are Personal Trainers the Problem?

I just finished sending out an email to my client list. After finishing this note, I really had to think that maybe we as personal trainers, or the "fitness industry" is to blame for so many people not being in shape. Some trainers and marketers of fitness trick people into thinking that to get in shape you have to go to a fancy gym, and use their equipment. What crap! People think, "oh, if only I could afford a trainer, like J.Lo, I'd be in shape too." That may be partly true, but what it really takes to get fit, one can easily do at home, with minimal equipment.
