Psychometric Testing 

The word "Psychometric" consists of two words: psycho means mind and metric means measurement. So, it literally means measurement of the mind.

A Psychometric test is a test that a psychologist designed to measure your natural talents and your performance. It is designed to show your type of personality and your potential. Psychometric tests are used by employers and recruitment consultants to measure your suitability for the position. It is also used by careers advisors and coaches to help you achieve your potential.

There are 3 main types of tests: ability, interest and personality.

Psychometric tests became known because employers started using them for employment placement tests. Big companies believe that psychometric tests help them recruit the right people with the personal qualities and abilities needed for the specific position. They are useful for "sifting out" large number of applicants at an early stage and so saving the employers both time and money.

Personality questionnaires are designed to explore your preferred way of behaving; how you relate to other people and your ability to deal with your own and other people's emotions and the way you handle and solve problems.

The following groups of people would use psychometric testing:

Employers: This group use psychometric testing to find the person who is the right fit for the job. It helps them minimise costly hiring mistakes and save them money.
Recruitment Consultants: This group use psychometric testing mainly to improve placement success.

Managers: - An employee may join your company for various reasons, but it is their relationship with their manager that determines how long they stay. Managers play a significant role in influencing the employee's commitment level and retention. Good relationship skills helps the manager produce better performance, and gives the employee greater job satisfaction and higher motivation, thereby producing more effective managers.

Coaches: Good coaches understand why people act a certain way and behave the way they do. They know their clients personality style. This leads to effective communication and goal setting.

I have actually never considered what I do as a business...I suppose it is. I have been painting for many years and for the past eight or so I have been pretty much painting only portraits of blues personalities.
There are a few places in the Mississippi delta that market my work and I accept commissions of course. Occassionally I accept a commission for everyday people but that's not what I really want to be doing.
I have a studio on the grounds at my home in Maryland and one at a place I call home for most winter months in the south west. My husband and I make several visits to the delta each year...blues festivals and friends there.
We take lots of photographs of course and some day I will take the time to post them all on my personal web site.

Sage Jewels emerged into the world of retail in 2005 out of the vision of its owner owner/jewelry Designer Lisa Marie Glover in 2005 following the breast cancer diagnosis of her college roommate and best friend. The spiritual and celebratory designs of Sage Jewels, LLC consist of quality materials that include gemstones, handmade dichroic glass, natural stones, pearls, Swarovski crystals and crystal pearl, glass beads, seed beads and sterling silver. As a jewelry designer, Lisa promises that "you won't see your Sage Jewels creation being worn by others."

This month I am going to introduce you to some fabulous dolls for your kids. The first doll that our daughter Nevaeh loves is the NANA STAR doll. The Nana Star doll is a soft cloth doll which is really light weight and very pretty. She comes with a beautiful book and Cd which shares the story of Nana Star.
