When I lived on a canyon in Southern California years ago a Cooper's Hawk would land on the fence looking for quail that had come to pick up seeds on the ground. He knew exactly where the bird feeding station was located.

Just saw a Coopers Hawk, here in Lisle, Il, in the woods here. I live on a lake. He was hunting. So beautiful.

I shot a Cooper's Hawk (with my camera!) in my woods here. He had a squirrel! Normally they feed on songbirds or smaller prey but this big old dude got a squirrel.

We occasionally see Cooper's Hawk's in the trees near our home - always a thrill to see them. Nicely done lens.

I live in Jackson NJ and we have a pair of coopers hawks that nested and are raising 4 babies today the parents are trying to get them to fly out of the trees. We are so thrilled they chose our yard for there home.

Living in an urban setting, i am now looking out my window at what i think is a Cooper's hawk and not sharp shinned. He starteld me weeks ago when about a dozen small birds flew into my window in a flurry and then he followed with a thud! I have been able to get great phots and i think it is definatley the Coopers. Very cool!

I live in Hoboken, NJ and I saw a hawk last May and June sitting out my window staring at my cat. My backyard is filled with starlings and blackbirds, so I'm sure he was looking for an easy meal. I wasn't sure if it was a Sharp-shinned hawk or a Cooper's. It may have been a juvenile and they look so similar to each other. From what I've been reading, I think it was a Cooper's because they are more common than Sharp-Shinned and it looked very similar to the photo at the top of this website. Hope he comes back this summer, but doesn't eat my cat. Also, a bald eagle was spotted in Weekhawken, NJ-how great is that!?..
