This lens is all about copper jewelry. I love making and wearing it. It's like no other metal in look and feel. I am an Etsy(your place for all things handmade) seller, and of course, I specialize in copper jewelry. You can see my store here.
Inspiration
Inspiration I have found comes in many forms. When I am creating with sterling silver, I use a lot of Art Deco and geometric shapes as inspiration. But, when it comes to copper, I find inspiration in the most unusual places.Take this necklace for instance. I gained inspiration from ikebana vases. I really fell in love with the shapes of the vases themselves. Once I have the inspiration, everything just falls into place.
This necklace is in my shop as well as a matching pair of earrings. They are one of a kind because of the gemstone dangles.
My First Published Tutorial

Copper Wedding
Since my first custom tiara, I have been inspired to create a line of tiaras and headbands from copper. These have been popular with the bride who wants something different and unique in her wedding accessories.My latest is a copper tiara studded with white pearls and a mother of pearl flower.
A Manly Cuff
So, I need to beef up my men's collection as I only have one other piece. I have decided to design one piece a week, and this week it was copper's turn.This cuff is made from heavy gauge copper wire that has been soldered together in a very geometric pattern. Mixed Metal
Copper can be so beautiful when mixed with another metal. My personal preference is to mix it with sterling silver. The combination of sterling and copper is a beautiful and exotic one.These earrings are a mix of sterling silver and copper. The copper has been forged and combined with sterling discs and spheres. It creates a very lightweight, exotic pair of earrings.
The Truth About Copper
Copper gets such a bad rap. Yes, clean, non-sealed copper will cause skin interactions in some people. Usually, the interaction is a skin discoloration such as green or black. This discoloration washes away with a little soap and water.
When the copper has been sealed like my pieces, generally there will be no more interactions because the copper does not actually make contact with the skin. So, try a piece of copper jewelry to add an unusual look to your jewelry wardrobe.

- Thanks so much, Lisa! I completely understand. While I do clearcoat at times, it is not always done. Generally, I only do it when requested so you shouldn't have any problems if it isn't clearcoated.
