How to Copy PS2 Games

There isn't very much information on the Internet about how to copy ps2 games. It's not that simple doing it by yourself. To copy PS2 games, you need three tools:

1. Compatible copying software like Game Copy Pro

2. Appropriate copy media (DVD-R, DVD+R etc)

3. a PS2 mod chip or boot disc

In order to play legal backup copies, your PS2 needs to be modified by installing a PS2 mod chip. This is best done by someone that knows what they are doing.

An alternative to installing a mod chip, is to use a boot disc which you place in your PS2 console before inserting the legal backup copy of your game.

Where can you get a PS2 boot disc

There is a lot of mis-information about PS2 mod chips and PS2 boot discs on the Internet at the moment.

My best recommendation for getting for PS2 mod chips or PS2 boot discs is www.modchip.com.

They have a full selection of PS2 mod chips and PS2 boot discs to choose from.

PS2 on Wikipedia

The PlayStation 2 (often shortened to PS2) is a sixth-generation video game console manufactured by Sony. The successor to the PlayStation, and the predecessor to the PlayStation 3, the PlayStation 2 forms part of the PlayStation series of video game consoles. Its development was announced in March 1999 and it was released a year later in Japan.

The PS2 is the best-selling console to date, having reached over 136 million units sell-in as of the end of December 2008 and a software library projected to exceed 1,900 games in 2009. New games are scheduled to be released into 2010, giving the PS2 a marketable life of over 10 years, thus continuing the sixth generation.
