Copywriting - not just about words

Copywriting is a magical art that, when done correctly, can benefit your business by bringing in more quality leads which you can then convert into sales.

Many businesses write their own copy 'in house' in the belief that no one knows their products as well as they do. Which, I have to agree, is probably true but also the reason why they should bring in a copywriter to write their marketing materials for them.

By not being blinkered by the company, a copywriter will approach the project with a fresh perspective and one tailored to the reader rather than the company.

They will identify who the reader is, what problem they have and how the product will solve it. By tailoring their writing in this manner, it will be persuasive and will get results.

Most copywriters will be able to work directly with a company or, if you are a web designer or graphic designer, as part of your design team.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that you must find a copywriter specific to your industry. It isn't necessary. Often a copywriter unfamiliar with your market will be more effective as they will bring fresh ideas that will be captivating rather than run of the mill.
