Copywriting for Blogs

Copywriting for blogs can be a little tricky when you first start. Questions arise like where do I start? What do I write about? How in the world can I think of something good to say!!!

That's how I felt to start with! So here are some tips to get you started and on the road to success.

Headlines

When writing content for your blog keep a similar structure throughout. Make use of headlines to split the content up so readers can quickly scan your page and find what appeals to them.

Separate Text

Separate your text with white. Make good use of paragraphs so readers don't give up trying to read all the text before even starting.

Use Pictures

Pictures not only tell a thousand words they also help break up the article. It will also help people connect with the text.

Use Correct English

There is nothing worse than seeing incorrect english on a professional site. If you are casual about your article, people will be casual about you. Using proper language, grammar and spelling should be normal practise. Also double check your work or better still have a friend proofread and edit - it's amazing what you can miss when you have written the article yourself.

Look and Feel

The look and feel of your site are equally important. Having a great looking website won't make up for a garbage article. Likewise, having a great article with a terrible setup will also hurt your conversion rate.

Contents of Article

When writing an article keep the reader in mind. What would they want to read? Try to solve a problem and then place a call to action.

Be informative. Readers don't want to read a salespitch. If they like what they are reading they will continue to read the entire article and click on your links. Keep it informative and helpful.
