Cornhole is the most fun you can have with a bean bag.
First, let's take a brief trip down memory lane. It's a cold and rainy day, and your first grade Phys ed teacher has set up a bean bag toss in the gym because it's too muddy outside to play dodgeball. Thanking the Almighty, you happily toss the musty beanbag. Even the dorkiest of dorks can toss a bean bag. You're golden. At least until you hit Ashley Parker, the coolest girl in the class, right smack in the eye; an eye which immediately turns an inhuman shade of green. Uh-oh.
Now, fast forward twelve years. Did you keep practicing your bean bag tossing skills as Ms. Gulch suggested when she marked your report card with a glaring "Unsatisfactory" for hand-eye coordination? Let's hope so, because if you did, your time has come to shine.
A Bag, A Board and a Beautiful Day-Does It Get Any Better?
As you stood there all those years ago, an innocent first grader winging the bean bag across the gym floor, who would have guessed just how critical that early training would become.Who would have known that one day the stakes would be far higher than just a simple grade card. A beer, or maybe an entire six-pack is on the line now. This is the big-time.
Cornhole is an Equal Opportunity Sport
Even those of us who could never shimmy up that big rope in P.E. can play cornhole.
The beauty of cornhole is that anybody, or everybody can play. Young or old, weak or strong, drunk or sober-even the klutziest amoungst us can give the bean bag a fling. The game will require the bean bags, the boards, open space to set up, and refreshments. Of these requirements, the refreshments are the most crucial for establishing a "tone" of play.
A family game requires bottled water and Sierra Mist in a cooler. A college game requires a keg, and it's generally not root beer.
