Some coastal self catering holiday cottage locations
The south coast of Cornwall offers some amazing self catering holiday locations. The harbour towns of Looe and Polperro are lovely locations with some great properties to enjoy.A quaint cottage is not everyon's choice of main home but it can be a brilliant holiday experience. Many Cornish properties retain a great deal of their original features whilst offering modern comforts. In summer the granite walls keep the interior cool whilst in winter a stove or open fire provides a great atmosphere - particularly when backed up by modern central heating in the other rooms!
Both Looe and Polperro once flourished as fishing ports. Though now much diminished you will still see fish being unloaded at the quay, shortly to appear in local restaurants, shops and pubs.
On Cornwall's north coast the former trading port of Padstow offers a slightly different, wilder landscape. Properties here are ideal for the more active holiday maker, with great surf conditions and the Camel Trail and Bodmin Moor within easy reach.

Self Catering choices
Cornish Self Catering Cottages - some tips
There's a significant choice of self catering accommodation out there and it can be a daunting choice!A good start is to decide the broad type of holiday accommodation you would like. Do you want a modern house, apartment or cottage? Are you looking for coastal, rural or a town holiday property?
Do you want to bring your pets? Are you looking for an out of season break?
Making these decisions before you start your search will allow you to target properties that are most suitable and make he task much easier.
Another important consideration is that some cottage properties in village or waterfront locations do not have dedicated parking. If this is an important consideration, double check that your cottage has parking before booking.
The main advice is to decide your needs, but be experimental and try out a new type of property for a memorable holiday experience.
