An Exotic Medical Vacation with your Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery

You can shop around and find the best place and time for your surgery which includes a luxury overseas vacation along with your coronary bypass surgery.

Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery

It is a scary thing to need a coronary artery bypass surgery and even scarier when you don't have insurance or have poor insurance that makes you pay a lot out of pocket. And it's a myth that all coronary artery bypass surgeries are emergencies. You can shop around and find the best place and time for your surgery. One of those choices include having a luxury overseas vacation along with your coronary artery bypass surgery. The price is fifty to seventy percent of the costs of US-based surgery-and that includes the flight and the lodging.

How do I go about it?

It's easy to arrange an overseas coronary bypass surgery. You basically contact a site like MedPath and they will show you the various choices of places you can have your coronary artery bypass graft surgery at. Some of those locations include Costa Rica, Malaysia, the Philippines, India, Mexico and India-all exotic locations that have excellent health care. Your visit and flight will be arranged and you will be set to go.

What do I do when I get there?

There will always be someone to help you with whatever you need to do. You will have a personal assistant who will translate for you if necessary and will get you a wheelchair if you think you need one. You will be taken to a luxury hotel room or suite and will make yourselves at home. All of your doctors' appointments and surgery will be scheduled for you. You can then have time for shopping, lounging around the pool or ocean (depending on your location) or just some sightseeing while you await your doctor's visit.

What will my doctor be like?

Your doctor will likely be world renowned in cardiac surgery and will be internationally board certified. He or she may have trained in the west. You will have all your questions answered before surgery and your doctor may have other tests or other specialists for you to visit before your surgery. Finally, you will be set for surgery.

What will my surgery be like?

You will be transferred initially to your luxury hospital room and then to a preoperative area where you will be prepared for coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Surgery will be done in a modern, state of the art surgical suite with modern anesthesia used-the same as in the US. There will be modern equipment, including a heart-lung machine and everything else you'll need for safe surgery. Your surgery will take several hours and when you wake up, you will be in recovery where you'll continue to recover. You'll be transferred to your luxury hospital room where you will begin cardiac rehabilitation. At some point, you will have recovered so much that you can continue recovering and rehabilitating at your hotel room with the help of cardiac rehabilitation therapy specialists. When your doctor clears you, you can head back home and continue your care with your regular doctor.
