Corporate Social Consciousness--MonaVie's M.O.R.E. Project
Corporate social consciousness is now a part of most corporation's longtime plans.
When CEO Dallin Larsen developed the MonaVie product, his wife made him promise that if they made the kind of money they anticipated, that he would incorporate a philanthropic arm to the business so that their wealth could be shared.
The M.O.R.E. Project (MonaVie's Operation Rescue) was the result. Since the primary ingredient of their functional beverage, the ACAI berry, was from Brazil, they decided that Brazil would be the country in which they started their giving.
The M.O.R.E. Project is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization which has been formed and operates to care for disadvantaged children, single mothers, and impoverished young men in Brazil and around the world by providing necessary food, clothing, shelter, and education.
The company states that "The M.O.R.E. Project* doesn't give handouts, we give hand-ups" by providing ". . . resources to a single mother so she can better provide for her family, giving structure and support to young men who grew up on the streets so they can be a positive male influence in their household, equipping children with an education that will empower them to chase their dreams" -- these are the ways we are fighting poverty not by doing things for people, but teaching them to do things for themselves."
All MonaVie employees and distributors are encouraged to participate in the support for The M.O.R.E. Project. They are encouraged to add a donation of at least $10.00 to their monthly autoship program. Many do. Last year alone, independent MonaVie distributor organizations contributed tens of thousands of dollars to the project.
