Corporate Gift Giving
Learn how to give the appropriate corporate gift with these suggestions.
Giving Corporate Gifts
First, you need to determine the person who should receive the gift. Depending upon the person and the position that he or she holds, you should know what type of gift would be appropriate to purchase. If you are buying a corporate gift for an executive, you may wish to look for something along the lines of a leather portfolio or a desk clock. For a lower management person, you may look to purchase a nice pen and pencil set.
Consider whether you want to give a perishable gift such as chocolate, a selection of fruit or a food basket, or a non-perishable gift such as a branded polo shirt or computer case. Consider shipping costs and the weather for the location of the shipment as well.
Select the appropriate time of year for sending the gift. Corporate gifts are especially popular to give around the holiday season, such as Christmas or Hanukkah, or even right after the first of the year as a New Year's gift.
Be aware of the recipient's company rules regarding receiving gifts. Large corporations are usually very sensitive to their employees receiving gifts over a certain amount of money to avoid potential scandals related to contracting business in return for gifts.
