The ULTIMATE Corvette

Breaking news- the #002 of the two original ROADSTERS is going on the auction block in January- take a look if you want to see Corvette history being made!

This Corvette was stashed away, never finished, never assembled, until recently when my brother bought it.   He's a master mechanic, and has been his entire adult life.  He's worked for Delorean, GM, and has built, raced and  rehabilitated classic muscle cars.

This '63 Corvette Grand Sport is in BRAND NEW CONDITION, driven barely 500 miles for test driving and to and from shows.  This is NOT A KIT!

Take a close look at the facts and specs that follow.  This corvette is amazing!

Incredible Investment

The Finned Corvette Body was Extremely Expensive

"One can only wonder what would have happened if the Grand Sport was fully developed, but it would have most likely been able to challenge the coupe bodied Cobras, which took two class victories at Le Mans. Due to their exceptional rarity, the ill-fated Grand Sport racers are the most Highly Sought After of all Corvettes."

True Roadster

Open Top with Enclosed Roll Bar

This car isn't for everyone by a LONG SHOT. Its not a run of the mill convertible, either, but a true muscular roadster. Tim Allen wanted this car, but it wasn't assembled. Even he would look better in a car like this.

1963 Grand Sport Corvette Press Article - Corvette Action Center
Press article featuring historical information on the legendary Grand Sport Corvettes.

Six GS? im Champlin, 71, a retired employee of what was once called Plant Protection at GM's Milford Proving Grounds, says he destroyed the sixth Grand Sport, probably in late 1964 or early 1965. AUTOWEEK'S SEARCH FOR the rumored sixth Grand Sport Corvette has borne fruit yet again-in unexpected fashion.

When we suggested the existence of a sixth Grand Sport Corvette (AW, July 21), a howl went up from the keepers of conventional wisdom.

"Everyone knows there were only five," cried the faithful.

From Amazon: Zora's engineering gifts were remarkable, although not always fully appreciated at GM. Though he never stopped rebelling against the culture at GM, Zora remained tirelessly focused for over twenty years on improving the Corvette and making it a legitimate sports car capable of winning races. Burton's book brings us inside the walls of GM and inside the mind of this automotive engineering genius to understand the motivations behind this classic David and Goliath struggle.

Review
SAH Journal - for the Society of Automotive Historians, October/November 2005 (circ.: unavailable)
"It's exceedingly difficult for me to understand how a book so wonderfully comprehensive can be so very entertaining. How could such a book crammed with hard facts and cold figures and exact measurements be such a magic-carpet ride back to the halcyon days of American road racing? I'll just answer my own question if you don't mind. 'Let Harold Pace and Mark Brinker loose to research and write Vintage American Road Racing Cars 1950-1970 and you have a real masterwork.'"
