Cough and colds is a respiratory disease that most often affects infants and children. This disease can also affect adults, but different characteristics.

    Make sure to check with a doctor if you are not sure what you are dealing with. Especially is you have a liquid like cough or breathing difficulty. My daughter just got told she had pneumonia, and NOT to use cough suppressants because that would slow recovery and clearing of the lungs. There are no general rules, but asking a health professional or pharmasist can't hurt.
