1. Mr. Jones
Counting crows Songs
This song started it all for the counting crows. The song Mr. Jones talks about dreams and about being happy; intending to ones future planbs and having recognition. This song is a very good startup song, sang "Mr. Jones and me tell each other fairy tales" gives an impression of having small talks before getting to where they want to go. As to whom Mr. Jones is, I think he is a close friend to Mr. Duritz.
The song is upbeat that will make you jump and nod repeatedly to its instruments. It turns up on the Chorus near the ending with the backup vocals, something to that resembles a choir cheering up the counting crows on their debut.
2. Accidentally in love
counting crows songs
This made them all the more loved; a rock and Roll band covering an epic animation film by Disney. The song is upbeat with the same Adam Duritz fast paced style of getting grungy yet appealing, then fun.
3. A long december
counting crows songs
A long December song tells a sore lonely affair with love. Long December firmly described te feeling of being left alone by someone you fel deeply inlove with . Some what emo, but It simply narrates that rocks stars do feel and weep.
A long December feature Adam Duritz mellowed down with the great symphony of the band. It has it's high points and the "na nana na, na nana nana nananana, na nanana, yeah!" get's you entangled that a man with a broken spirit tells tales and utter words that deeply touches his inner side whether you understand it or not. "A lot of oysters but no pearls" tell of searching and continually seeking, and yet you fall and realize that she is lost and you haven't found what it is that you strongly wish for. Sad!
4. Big Yellow Taxi
counting crows songs
Big Yellow taxi is a remake of the 1970 Joni Mitchell.
The Big yellow taxi features Vanessa Carlton. The song is slightly upbeat with Vanessa Carlton's voice in every chorus makes the song really fun. Although most of the song tells about getting the better for something without taking into consideration the price you have to pay. "You don't know what you've got till it's gone". It happens a lot.
The Big yellow taxi title appears near end. It takes away love; thus, all the more understanding of the lyrics in the past verses.
5. Round here
counting crows songs
This is a little interesting song. Mellow and sad, this songs is racking up space in your head when you find a troubled girl on you town, and seeking help. When she falls into you and you can't accept it. What should you follow and what is the concept of all it?
I did find it hard to digest. The song just trembles simply with the vocals, strongly telling the story of how it is here. Not sure to believe on what the song tells me, some negative thoughts are thrown with the tone that gives it mystery.
Now then, it ends with what to do, if around here there are boundaries to ideas and given the guide line to act. When all comes down, what would you do to stop the madness, if round here there is none?

1. Color Blind
Counting crows color blind lyrics
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am
taffy stuck, tongue tied
Stuttered shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am...fine
I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded, and unfolded, and unfolding
I am
colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am...fine
I am.... fine
I am fine
2. Accidentally in love
Accidentally in love counting crows lyrics
What's the problem I don't know
Well maybe I'm in love (love)
Think about it every time
I think about it
Can't stop thinking 'bout it
How much longer will it take to cure this
Just to cure it cause I can't ignore it if it's love (love)
Makes me wanna turn around and face me but I don't know nothing 'bout love
Come on, come on
Turn a little faster
Come on, come on
The world will follow after
Come on, come on
Cause everybody's after love
So I said I'm a snowball running
Running down into the spring that's coming all this love
Melting under blue skies
Belting out sunlight
Shimmering love
Well baby I surrender
To the strawberry ice cream
Never ever end of all this love
Well I didn't mean to do it
But there's no escaping your love
These lines of lightning
Mean we're never alone,
Never alone, no, no
Come on, Come on
Move a little closer
Come on, Come on
I want to hear you whisper
Come on, Come on
Settle down inside my love
Come on, come on
Jump a little higher
Come on, come on
If you feel a little lighter
Come on, come on
We were once
Upon a time in love
We're accidentally in love
Accidentally in love [x7]
Accidentally
I'm In Love, I'm in Love,
I'm in Love, I'm in Love,
I'm in Love, I'm in Love,
Accidentally [x2]
Come on, come on
Spin a little tighter
Come on, come on
And the world's a little brighter
Come on, come on
Just get yourself inside her
Love ...I'm in love
3. Long December
Counting crows Long December Lyrics
Maybe this year will be better than the last
I can't remember the last thing you said as you were leavin'
Now the days go by so fast
And it's one more day up in the canyons
And it's one more night in Hollywood
If you think that I could be forgiven... I wish you would
The smell of hospitals in winter
And the feeling that it's all a lot of oysters, but no pearls
All at once you look across a crowded room
To see the way that light attaches to a girl
And it's one more day up in the canyons
And it's one more night in Hollywood
If you think you might come to California... I think you should
Drove up to the Hillside Manor sometime after two a.m.
And talked a little while about the year
I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower,
Makes you talk a little lower about the things you could not show her
And it's been a long December and there's no reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better that the last
I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself
To hold on to these moments as they pass
And it's one more day up in the canyon
And it's one more night in Hollywood
It's been so long since I've seen the ocean... I guess I should
4. Big Yellow taxi
Counting Crows Big Yellow taxi Lyrics
With a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swingin' hot spot
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got till it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parkin' lot
They took all the trees, and put em in a tree museum
And they charged the people a dollar and a half to see them
No, no, no, don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got till it's gone
They paved paradise, and put up a parkin' lot
Hey farmer, farmer, put away your DDT
I don't care about spots on my apples,
Leave me the birds and the bees - please
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got till it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Hey now, they've paved paradise to put up a parking lot
Why not?
Listen, late last night, I heard the screen door swing,
And a big yellow taxi took my girl away
Now don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got till it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
Hey now now, don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got till it's gone
They paved paradise to put up a parking lot
Why not, they paved paradise
They put up a parking lot
Hey hey hey, paved paradise and put up a parking lot
I don't wanna give it
Why you wanna give it
Why you wanna givin it all away
Hey, hey, hey
Now you wanna give it
I should wanna give it
Cuz you're givin it all away, no no
I don't wanna give it
Why you wanna give it
Why you wanna givin it all away
Cuz you're givin it all givin it all away yeah yeah
Cuz You're givin it all away hey, hey, hey
Hey, paved paradise, to put up a parking lot
la,la, la, la, la, la, la ,la ,la ,la ,la
Paved paradise, and put up a parking lot
5. Holiday in Spain
Counting crows Holiday in Spain lyrics
but there's a girl waiting for me down in Mexico
She's got a bottle of tequila, a bottle of gin
And if I bring a little music I can fit right in
We've got airplane rides
We got California drowning out the window side
We've got big black cars
And we've got stories how we slept with all the movie stars
I may take a holiday in Spain
Leave my wings behind me
Drink my worries down the drain
And fly away to somewhere new
Hop on my choo-choo
I'll be your engine driver in a bunny suit
If you dress me up in pink and white
We may be just a little fuzzy 'bout it later tonight
She's my angel
She's a little better than the one that used to be with me
Cause she liked to scream at me
Man, it's a miracle that she's not living up in a tree
I may take a holiday in Spain
Leave my wings behind me
Drive this little girl insane
And fly away to someone new
Everybody's gone
They left the television screaming that the radio's on
Someone stole my shoes
But there's a couple of bananas and a bottle of booze
Oh, well happy new year's baby
We could probably fix it if we clean it up all day
Or we could simply pack our bags
And catch a plane to Barcelona 'cause this city's a drag
I may take a holiday in Spain
Leave my wings behind me
Flush my worries down the drain
And fly away to somewhere new
Take a holiday in Spain
Leave my wings behind me
Drive this little girl insane
Fly away to someone new
Fly away to someone new
Fly away to someone new
6. Raining in Baltimore
Counting crows Raining in Baltimore lyrics
The big top is crumbling down
It's raining in Baltimore fifty miles east
Where you should be, no one's around
I need a phone call
I need a raincoat
I need a big love
I need a phone call
These train conversations are passing me by
And I don't have nothing to say
You get what you pay for
But I just had no intention of living this way
I need a phone call
I need a plane ride
I need a sunburn
I need a raincoat
And I get no answers
And I don't get no change
It's raining in Baltimore, baby
But everything else is the same
There's things I remember and things I forget
I miss you I guess that I should
Three thousand five hundred miles away
But what would you change if you could?
I need a phone call Maybe I should buy a new car
I can always hear a freight train Baby, if I listen real hard
And I wish, I wish it was a small world
Because I'm lonely for the big towns
I'd like to hear a little guitar
I guess it's time to put the top down
I need a phone call
I need a raincoat
I really need a raincoat
I really really need a rain coat
I really really really need a rain coat
I really need a raincoat
7. Einstein on the Beach
Counting crows Einstein on the Beach lyrics
His intentions are clear, he wanna be well-liked
If everything is nothing, then are we anything?
Is it better to be better than to be anything?
And Albert's vision is blooming uncontrolled
All his wings are slowly sinking
The world begins to disappear
The worst things come from inside here
All the king's men reappear
For an eggman, on and off the wall
Who'll never be together again
Einstein's down on the beach staring into the sand
Cause everything he believes in is shattered
What you fear in the night in the day comes to call anyway-ay
We all get burned as:
One more sun comes sliding down the sky
One more shadow leans against the wall
The world begins to disappear
The worst things come from inside here
And all the king's men reappear
For an eggman, on and off the wall
Who'll never be together again
Albert's waiting in the sun
On a field American
For the cause of some inflated form of hit and run
One more sun comes sliding down the sky
One more shadow leans against the wall
The world begins to disappear
The worst things come from inside here
And all the king's men reappear
For an eggman, fallin' off the wall
Will never be together again
Albert's fallen on the sun
Cracked his head wide open
The world begins to disappear
The worst things come from inside here
And all the king's men reappear
For an eggman, falling, falling
The world begins to disappear
The worst things come from inside here
And all the king's men reappear
For an eggman, fallin' off the wall
Will never be together again
No never be together again
No no never never never again, uh huh
What you fear in the night in the day comes to call anyway
8. Round Here
Counting crows Round Here lyrics
contrast of white on white.
and in between the moon and you the angels get a better view of the crumbling
difference between wrong and right.
i walk in the air, between the rain, through myself and back again where? i
don't know
maria says she's dying, through the door i hear her crying why? i don't know
round here we always stand up straight
round here something radiates
maria came from nashville with a suitcase in her hand she said she'd like to
meet a boy who looks like elvis.
she walks along the edge of where the ocean meets the land just like she's
walking on a wire in the circus.
she parks her car outside of my house and takes her clothes off, says she's
close to understanding Jesus.
she knows she's more than just a little misunderstood, she has trouble acting
normal when she's nervous.
round here we're carving out our names
round here we all look the same
round here we talk just like lions, but we sacrifice like lambs
round here she's slipping through my hands
oohhh sleeping children better run like the wind, out of the lightning dream
mama's little baby better get herself in out of the lightning
she says "it's only in my head."
she says "sshhh...i know it's only in my head."
but the girl on the car in the parking lot says: "man, you should try to take a
shot. can't you see my walls are crumblin?"
then she looks up at the building and says she's thinkin of jumping. she says
she's tired of life, she must be tired of something.
round here she's always on my mind
round here (hey man)i got lots of time
round here we're never sent to bed early and nobody makes us wait
round here we stay up very, very, very, very late.
i can't see nothing, nothing round here (oh)
won't you catch me if i'm falling?
won't you catch me if i'm falling?
won't you catch me cuz i'm falling down on you.
see i'm under the gun round here
oh man i said i'm under the gun round here
and i can't see nothing, nothing round here.
9. Murder of one
Counting crows Murder of one lyrics
Wrapped in strands of fist and bone
Curiosity, Kitten, doesn't have to mean you're on your own
Your can look outside your window
He doesn't have to know
We can talk awhile, baby
We can take it nice and slow
All your life is such a shame
All your love is just a dream
Are you happy where you're sleeping?
Does he keep you safe and warm?
Does he tell you when you're sorry?
Does he tell you when you're wrong?
I've been watching you for hours
It's been years since we were born
We were perfect when we started
I've been wondering where we've gone
All your life is such a shame
All your love is just a dream
I dreamt I saw you walking up a hillside in the snow
Casting shadows on the winter sky as you stood there counting crows
One for sorrow
Two for joy
Three for girls and four for boys
Five for silver
Six for gold and
Seven for a secret never to be told
There's a bird that nests inside you
Sleeping underneath your skin
When you open up your wings to speak
I wish you'd let me in
All your life is such a shame
All your love is just a dream
Open up your eyes
You can see the flames
of your wasted life
You should be ashamed
You don't want to waste your life
I walk along these hillsides in the summer 'neath the sunshine
I am feathered by the moonlight falling down on me
Change
10. Hanging around
Counting crows hanging around lyrics
I said, "Where have you been? I've been waiting for you.
Cause last night I had something so good
These days get so long and I got nothing to do"
I been hanginaround this town on the corner
I been bummin' around this old town so long
I been hanginaround this town on the corner
I been bummin' around this old town for way too long
We spend all day getting sober
Just hiding from daylight
Watching TV (Blame it on the rain)
We just look a lot better in the blue light
Well, you know I gotta get out
But I'm stuck so tight
Weighed by the chains that keep me...
hanginaround this town on the corner
I been bummin' around this old town too long
I been hanginaround this town on the corner
I been bummin' around this old town for way too long
And this girl listens to the band play
She says "where have you been?
I've been lyin right here on the floor"
Well, I got all this time
To be waiting for what is mine
To be hating what I am
After the light has faded
hanginaround this town on the corner
I been bummin' around this old town so long
I been hanginaround this town on the corner
I been bummin' around this old town for way, way,
way, way, way too long
