There are two different types of exercise that you need to do to burn calories. The first is strength training which will build muscle and enable your body to burn more calories. Strength training can be done with weights or resistance bands and should be done every other day.The second is cardiovascular exercise which will burn fat and calories. There are a variety of cardio exercises and you should mix it up so you don't get bored. Don't do anything that you don't enjoy. The key is to have fun with it so you will continue to exercise regularly.
My favorite cardio workout is done on a rebounder (mini-trampoline). I can do it while watching tv. It is fun and it burns more calories than most regular exercises. You can jump, jog, dance, bounce and twist, do jumping jacks and many others. Bouncing on a trampoline also has a lot of health benefits. It increases your lymphatic circulation, strengthens your immune system, tones your glandular system and helps your balance. I have found that it also gets rid of cellulite.
I recommend purchasing a quality rebounder. The springs on the cheap ones break very easily and you can get hurt when they do. Also the mats on the cheap ones are not soft enough to give you a buoyant bounce and it can hurt your joints. The one I use is the Needak Rebounder. After a lot of research, I found that this one has the best quality and customer service. I have had mine for many years and am very happy with it.
You also must find exercises that you enjoy doing. It should be a part of your new lifestyle. When you are trying to lose weight by counting calories, you should be burning more calories through exercising and eating enough to support your body without getting hungry.
