My favourite Country Music Singers and their Country Music songs
Eight country music classics. These are the country music classics that I really like. Country music hasn't always featured high on my list of perfered music styles. Now that I'm a bit older and wiser I realise what a rich source of amazing lyrics and melodies country music has to offer. Today my favourite country music classics include Dolly Party, Tami Wynette and more modern singers such as Garth Crooks and Taylor Swift. I have to admit that there are many less internationally known country music artists that I'm not familiar with. I'm sure you country music experts out there can recommend some!
A few years back well known Scottish comedian Billy Connolly wrote an ironic Country song that 'sent up' some of the regular life themes to be found in country music. I've featured his song below. I'm sure you'll take it in the spirit of fun that's intended. Of course Billy is a true country fan and he is a keen banjo player too.
Coming from the British Isles its really interesting to hear echoes of British and European folk music in the Country songs from the USA. If you don't know them I recommend the folk band Fairport Convention as a taster of what I mean.

- Great lens! I do not have so much a favorite singer as favorite songs. My favorite country songs cover a wide rang of artists, but this was a good collection of some of the best.

- Willie Nelson is a Legend!!.. Great lens. I also had flashbacks about the Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton song - "ISLANDS IN THE STREAM". I think this was coz its such a great karaoke song :)
